I know fiat has a terrible reputation, but my wife bought her base model 500 new in 2013, and I enjoyed driving it so much I got an abarth a few years later in 2017. I had the abarth up until I got my Maverick in February, and my wife is refusing to give hers up despite having to squeeze a car...
ACC was the only reason I got the lariat in the first place, I would have been really upset if it showed up without it, could have saved a bunch of money getting an XLT instead. Sure, I've never had it before, and could live just fine without it, but with this being my first time spending over...
Was your original order a 23 or a rollover 22 order? The price did go up a bit and was not price protected for rollovers, but did get some money back to help offset the difference.
If it's a rollover, you have $2750 off the new msrp. It still sucks, but $1250 more is a bit easier to swallow...
Eco mode definitely helps my mpg a bit, although most likely it's mainly due to being a huge cruise control fan, and it's much less aggressive getting to the preset speed in eco than normal. I also really like the extra regen feel on off throttle.
I do have the lariat with auto climate, but I'm pretty sure all Mavericks have it, but the lariat gets dual zone instead of the single on the others.
And for climate controls behind screens, I'm only thinking for auto climate, if it's not auto than it definitely needs to be adjusted regularly...
I'm having a hard time imagining this scenario because in my short 15+ years of driving nothing remotely similar to this has ever happened. Every time I've had a window fog up so much I couldn't see I was barely from where it was parked. Even with the physical defrost button, I doubt the window...
I like that the heated seats / steering wheel are buttons because I adjust those a lot, but for the climate, how often are you guys adjusting yours where that's an issue? Personally, I don't touch the blower speed or the vents, and occasionally I'll move the climate a couple degrees. I've never...
Being short paying off once again 🙏
At 5'6 there is more than enough room for a backwards facing carseat behind the drivers seat. The cabin size feels like it's a great combo of practicality and usability to me.
Nice write up, I'm right around 3k miles with mine and share most of your feelings. Biggest disagreement I have is driving fun, I'm sure this is about perspective, but coming from a Fiat 500 Abarth, and a Miata before that, the electronic steering is completely dead feeling to me, especially on...
Mine has gone off at me a few times, it's usually when someone I'm following is turning right, I'll back off when I see their signal and then accelerate as they're turning. Seems to freak it out as it doesn't know the intentions of the turning car.
Agree, Mav spy shots came out a good 10 months before it's official announcement. I do expect the Stout to be coming, the fact the Rav4 is already made in the US means they have the availability to make a Rav4 based truck and avoid the chicken tax without building a whole new plant, but...
5 years of dailying a Fiat 500 Abarth, which felt big compared to the Miata I was driving before that, the Mav feels huge. I haven't had any problems yet because of how aware I am of it. I imagine going from something similar in size but with a foot shorter wheelbase, the way it turns could...
