Definitely the most feasible option if OP really wants 4k towing is order one with it when the banks open up and then when it comes in then trade in the existing truck. The cost to add it wouldn't be worth it and as you said, the sticker that says the legal tow ratings wouldn't match anyways...

Honestly I barely ever tow myself and I was debating for a long while between the hybrid and the fx4 with towing. My choice was based on if I got the hybrid it's just another vehicle until I find something else, if I got the fx4 then I wanted to spec it out for a truck I would have for 10 years...

It's not missing the point, some of us came from larger trucks that wanted a smaller truck and liked the styling of the Maverick. At least that's why I got rid of my f150 because I didn't need that much truck and I got tired of having to park across two parking spots.
