Huh, explains why I had a problem with my old 2012 f150 I had before I got the Maverick.
I have a work truck so my personal truck would sit at my shop all week, well I took a couple week trip for work and came back to take my personal truck home for the weekend and it had a dead battery.
I...
That's what I was thinking looking at the fx4 sticker on mine, that red lettering would definitely match and look sharp.
Just glad that we won't match completely if I end up getting the xtrusion rack because I'll probably do this toolbox setup that you did too
A j carrier I think they are called? Yeah I was planning to do similar, I don't have a 20 sea kayak yet, I have a tandem one that sits about 16 that I have no way of using since I got the maverick.
I live about 10 mins from a launching point on the bay so it's not like I have to go far with it...
I don't have a roof rack yet, I'm still in the planning stages and plan to start picking up parts probably mid to late summer once I can pick up overtime at work then install in early fall.
Looking at xtrusion site, it looks like the one that clears the antenna is the 20 inch one which should...
Thanks, that gets me some reference then.
I've seen that rack before but I didn't pay too much attention to it cause it wasn't high enough, but now that I know they got taller sized I'll give another look because it's seems like a nice solid rack.
Ah, doesn't have the built in lock.
Two padlocks work though, just as long as it is lockable.
Curiosity question, is the xtrusion rack a set height or can you get that higher?
I haven't picked out a rack yet but I'm looking for something to match a roof rack height because I plan to put long...
I actually kinda like that, wouldn't have thought about doing it before but the work table function idea of it makes it a lot more useful.
Since that is a rifle case, I would assume that it can be locked?
I definitely agree with you and I have a fx4.
If you want a AWD or four wheel drive truck/vehicle then there is plenty of available models to chose from.
Yes there aren't many AWD vehicles in this size with a bed but plenty of AWD SUVs and rangers/Colorado/tacos are not much bigger and more...
I literally just said there is no law saying you have to follow the sticker, manufacturers do not write the law.
I said a cop can give you a ticket for unsafe operation/careless driving or not using a properly equipped vehicle.
It's on the judge to say if it was unsafe or not then
As far as...
It would be driving an unsafe or an improperly equipped vehicle.
Cop pulls you over towing a trailer, asks to look at your sticker and sees the trailer would be over that weight rating then he could give you a ticket.
It's up to you to then go to court and prove that you did modifications that...
I'm not doing your homework for you, I'm lazy.
I just know from when quality control manager at a quarry, the company wanted us to get our weightmaster certificate and that was under it.
We weren't allowed to let any truck regardless if they were private customers or not to leave the quarry if...
Definitely the most feasible option if OP really wants 4k towing is order one with it when the banks open up and then when it comes in then trade in the existing truck.
The cost to add it wouldn't be worth it and as you said, the sticker that says the legal tow ratings wouldn't match anyways...
Honestly I barely ever tow myself and I was debating for a long while between the hybrid and the fx4 with towing.
My choice was based on if I got the hybrid it's just another vehicle until I find something else, if I got the fx4 then I wanted to spec it out for a truck I would have for 10 years...
You're missing the point.
I get the point that you are coming from because a small hybrid maverick that gets you the versatility of a truck with the gas milage of a economy car and still pretty roomy passenger wise for under $30k, even $20k is unlike anything else on the market.
Ford could...
It's not missing the point, some of us came from larger trucks that wanted a smaller truck and liked the styling of the Maverick.
At least that's why I got rid of my f150 because I didn't need that much truck and I got tired of having to park across two parking spots.
I've been curious if it would be possible to retrofit in the rear differential from the tremor into the fx4.
I can't say I researched it at all but from doing rear end swaps before on muscle cars, it should be feasible and shouldn't be all that different.
As far as I know, it's only the rear...
Anton Yelchin, he just did the Odd Thomas movie right before it happened which was fantastic and if you ever read the book series, it would have been a awesome series of movies.
Yes please, I'm all for the return of the small trucks.
Not everyone needs a big hulking Goliath of a truck, I know I didn't which is why I got the Maverick and got rid of my f150
