Break in is not as critical as it used to be. The big thing was getting the rings seated properly.
It does test your patience.
I just bought a new outboard motor with a 10 hour break in. It starts out very conservative but then it possibly has not been run at all. A new car has been driven...
You are starting to catch my attention. I just traded my beloved F150 Ecoboost on a 9,000# Class B RV with 3.6L of naturally aspirated barely adequate power. My Outback is no fun either and is next on the chopping block..
What does your guy do to tune a turbocharger in the street driven...
The canopy height I choose will depend on the distance from the bed floor to the ceiling. If the Maverick bed height + cab height is less than a full size pickup then the raised canopy would be my preference.
Form follows function.
FWD hybrid has a 2.91:1 gear ratio. The Ecoboost has 3.63:1 standard ratio and the 4K tow package has 3.81:1 gears.
The F150 ford has three frame strengths available but does not advertise what packages come with what. I don't think they do anything similar on the Maverick but have seen claims...
Agree on Contis. Recently put True Contact Tour tires on the Outback and they are amazing in standing water. You expect the vehicle-steering wheel to pull to the side and it barely happens.
Putting weight in the back of a 2wd pickup puts weight on the drive wheels resulting in more traction. Adding weight to the rear of a FWD vehicle is just the opposite.
The Maverick, being FWD or AWD, will not have a traction benefit from adding weight in the back. There could be a handling...
Seattle? You should be good with the stock tires. Once every few years you possibly could justify winter tires but you don't know till the big storm rolls through.
One thing most don't know is that winter tires have less traction on wet roads than all seasons. Pretty sure you'll get a bit of rain...
I've seen evidence that oiled gauze air filters pass more silica and other fine abrasives than paper. Are you guys driving in conditions where giving up 2 hp is that important?
For that matter does the gauze element actually make a power difference on this vehicle?
I suspect cost and the potential upsale is the reason.
I do wonder about the aero implications. Also suspect the small flaps in front of the wheels are aero.
