  1. Intake Valve Carbon Buildup: how can it be prevented?

Not sure how a fuel additive could help when it does not come in contact with the back side of the valve.
  2. Please explain why we're not supposed to tow or stress the engine during the "break in" period?

Break in is not as critical as it used to be. The big thing was getting the rings seated properly. It does test your patience. I just bought a new outboard motor with a 10 hour break in. It starts out very conservative but then it possibly has not been run at all. A new car has been driven...
  3. Upgraded 2.0 EcoBoost turbos coming from Buschur, pics of the tiny stock factory turbo

You are starting to catch my attention. I just traded my beloved F150 Ecoboost on a 9,000# Class B RV with 3.6L of naturally aspirated barely adequate power. My Outback is no fun either and is next on the chopping block.. What does your guy do to tune a turbocharger in the street driven...
  4. Air Design Cab Spoiler installed

I was gonna see if they make one for Nissan pickups but it turns out they come from the factory pre-spoiled...
  5. Best tires for hybrid?

Knobbys have an aero disadvantage too. It really is hard to beat rib tires for 99.9% of real life driving.
  6. Best tires for hybrid?

Frankly that small of a tire size change will only be noticed by you. Ford did a good job with their choice of Cross Contacts.
  7. 2.0 AWD Real World MPG???

You can, if I understand it right, duplicate the ECO mode with your right foot.
  8. A.R.E is working on a canopy!

The canopy height I choose will depend on the distance from the bed floor to the ceiling. If the Maverick bed height + cab height is less than a full size pickup then the raised canopy would be my preference. Form follows function.
  9. Maverick is using 8F35 transmission. But why not the heavy duty transmission (8F57)?

Dammit, Ford, I want a 13 speed Roadranger or better yet, Spicer 5x4 twin sticks.
  10. Broke-In!!! Poppin’ bottles (of Techron)

Techron is indeed good stuff and solved an issue with my outboard motors. That said, IMO, you are wasting your money for a feel good move.
  11. If you don’t have 4K package BUT DO HAVE FX4 - what’s preventing the Maverick from towing 4Klbs?

FWD hybrid has a 2.91:1 gear ratio. The Ecoboost has 3.63:1 standard ratio and the 4K tow package has 3.81:1 gears. The F150 ford has three frame strengths available but does not advertise what packages come with what. I don't think they do anything similar on the Maverick but have seen claims...
  12. All season tires or snow tires for front wheel drive hybrid?

Agree on Contis. Recently put True Contact Tour tires on the Outback and they are amazing in standing water. You expect the vehicle-steering wheel to pull to the side and it barely happens.
  13. 4K Tow Package and Brake Controller

Not just the 2,000# limit. The tow package allows a 40 square foot frontal area and the non tow package has a 20 square foot limit.
  14. All season tires or snow tires for front wheel drive hybrid?

Putting weight in the back of a 2wd pickup puts weight on the drive wheels resulting in more traction. Adding weight to the rear of a FWD vehicle is just the opposite. The Maverick, being FWD or AWD, will not have a traction benefit from adding weight in the back. There could be a handling...
  15. All season tires or snow tires for front wheel drive hybrid?

Seattle? You should be good with the stock tires. Once every few years you possibly could justify winter tires but you don't know till the big storm rolls through. One thing most don't know is that winter tires have less traction on wet roads than all seasons. Pretty sure you'll get a bit of rain...
  16. 17” vs 18” Rims

17" vs. 18" is not an issue. Concern yourself with wheel offset, rim width, tire width and diameter.
  17. My cousin had a wonderful time with my Lariat last night 😭

@Theempowered. Where you been? Seriously, we care and some suspect you are being taken advantage of. Has your prize cousin banned you from responding?
  18. K&N 33-3131 drop in air filter installed on 2.0 Maverick

I've seen evidence that oiled gauze air filters pass more silica and other fine abrasives than paper. Are you guys driving in conditions where giving up 2 hp is that important? For that matter does the gauze element actually make a power difference on this vehicle?
  19. Front AND Rear Splash Guards installed (part numbers included)

I suspect cost and the potential upsale is the reason. I do wonder about the aero implications. Also suspect the small flaps in front of the wheels are aero.
