  1. 2024 Eco Boost Fuel Economy

I did fill up with midgrade (89 octane) probably 3 times in the one year. Usually get the gas when the tank has 1/4 left. That does help the mpg, how much is hard to say, I tend to do it when on a road trip to increase the range, I think it pushes the range up about 40 miles on a tank.
  2. 2024 Eco Boost Fuel Economy

2023 Ecoboast Lariat @ 12,000 miles got to 30mpg average from Sept 2023-Sept 2024. It will drop to something like 25mpg at the end of winter. I do about 70% highway miles

  4. Front Mud flap modification

I guess I should have searched for "flap" instead of "mud flap". Didn't try "Air Dam", maybe that would have worked. I'll be removing mine and see how i works out. Thanks
  5. Front Mud flap modification

I'm contemplating cutting the front mud flap as I'm concerned it is so low that it will get damaged on even a moderately rough road. Has anyone done this? I think totally removing it would reduce supporting the front skirt too much. Excuse me for calling these parts what I want to, I need to get...
  6. What's your Ultimate Pickup Specs?

As I re-read what I wrote, I guess it does sound like complaining. I bought the maverick because it fits me better than anything else out there. If the maverick had more ground clearance I wouldn't have much more to dream about except maybe that ultimate pick up.
  7. What's Your ONE Thing?

    More ground clearance
  8. What's your Ultimate Pickup Specs?

Mine would be something that fits in my garage - so- no longer than the Maverick. Extended cab, so my 50# dog can still fit in it. Bigger bed than the Maverick (not really necessary if I get the full cab like the Maverick has) MORE Ground clearance A 4000# towing capacity 4 Wheel Drive or good...
  9. Looking for tie downs that fit on top of bed rails

LOL Yeah it's more function than beauty but actually looks pretty good with the steel rails atop them
  10. Looking for tie downs that fit on top of bed rails

You don't see the tonneau cover and rails because I removed it. I traded the truck for a 2025 XLT Fx4, just needed some off road capabilities that the Lariat did not seem to have.
  11. Looking for tie downs that fit on top of bed rails

I did this because I did not want a rolling tonneau cover taking up space in the bed when its retracted. It's pretty stout but I would not tie a motorcycle to them. I use them to tie my collapsable ice shanty or big travel bag to the top of the tonneau cover. There was drilling, tapping and...
  12. How to remove scratches from the plastic trims around the bed?(Update:With instruction how to replace the trim - See end of page5)

Mr. Moustache. Hard to believe it was over a year ago when I added my tie off cleats and you asked what I was doing for the shims under the plastic bed rail trim. I don't remember the thickness of the shims I used. I did end up using aluminum plate and composite plastic shims. The aluminum plate...
  13. Droning/Humming noise especially at 15-30mph

2023 EcoBoost Lariat I've been searching for similar threads for "wheel hum", so far this is the closest I find. My noise seems to be from the front wheels, mostly drivers’ side but that's the side I drive from so most likely to hear it that way. Most noticeable at low speeds 35 and under and...
  14. FORScan 101 - Step-by-Step How to Start Guide

Am I missing this in this thread ? Has anyone found the Master list of codes to use to make changes in Forscan ? I definitely want to have that before I purchase Forscan.
  15. How to remove scratches from the plastic trims around the bed?(Update:With instruction how to replace the trim - See end of page5)

To answer my own question. Yes, removal and reinstallation of the plastic side rail trims is doable without damage. Started at the rear and lifted the inside edge up by hand before inserting the end handle of a pair of channel locks underneath, then inserted the 5 in one painter tool that is...
  16. How to remove scratches from the plastic trims around the bed?(Update:With instruction how to replace the trim - See end of page5)

I'm trying to mount some tie off cleats on the top of the plastic side rail trims. Realizing there is some hollow space below the plastic, so I want to remove the trim and add solid plastic shims in the hollow space at the points where I will screw or Revnut the fasteners. In process of...
