There will be a large group of unhappy folks, regardless.
Ford offered free AWD to those that ordered FWD with 4K towing because of Ford's mistake.
I ordered a hybrid as soon as the order banks allowed. It's Ford's screw up - and Ford should make it right.
The EB FWD will absolutely have...
I feel the only thing that makes the EB worthwhile is AWD. If you can't add that, or include that as part of the swap, it seems like not many folks would want to switch.
So has pretty much every person on these forums. But I certainly appreciate you declaring how much of a great driver you are, and adding so much to the topic of this thread.
It's crazy that folks are trying to defend Ford by putting the blame on the dealers and customers.
I waited over a year. I kept up with the shifting time lines for when the order banks were open. I spoke with a number of dealers. As soon as the order banks opened I was contacting dealers and...
They did not.
How can dealers know what other dealers are ordering? You expect hundreds of small town dealers to magically know what guys like Tim are doing, taking in nearly a thousand orders.
It's on Ford.
Who controls the order bank? Ford was perfectly capable of shutting off hybrid...
That's putting the onus on the dealers instead of Ford.
Did Ford come out with an actual, clear statement like "We only have capacity to build X amount of Hybrids - you can order one, but you might not be selected for production" They did not.
At no point did Ford say "Hey, anyone ordering...
We are down to one vehicle. So it'd be nice to get something by the spring/early summer.
If I end up finding something cheap to hold me over for a year or two, I wouldn't be too worried about what happens.
With that being said, if Ford punts my order - it'll very likely be the first and...
Has anyone received an email from Ford asking to confirm your email?
I just got that one today - which seemed odd.
Edit: Just now got the Ford email others are getting. New order, Hybrid XL
I have a bicycle. I'm worried the engine could go at any point
Currently waiting to hear on a 99 Ranger. It's a lot more rusty than I thought, but the fellow is supposed to get a few things looked at and get back to me. If I could get that for a cheap price I'd cross my fingers and...
I have to question that logic: Re: moving to F-150.
The point of the Maverick is the fill a niche for people that don't want the F-150 or Ranger. Perhaps a very small percentage of those buying a Maverick will realize they want or need more truck - but the reason why so many buyers are first...
I disagree. The purpose of the hybrid is to get better gas milage, not maximal gas milage. I think a leveling kit and slightly bigger/beefier tires would look awesome. If you can still get 35+ mpg around town, that's having your cake and eating it too .
You are right. By you stating that "almost 70K of the orders placed are hybrids" it's certianly easy for someone like me, with poor reading comprehension, to not understand you must have meant something completely different.
You said, as a statement of fact, that 70K of the 86 thousand Maverick orders are Hybrid.
The onus is on you to prove that statement.
To your other point - I agree that the price difference is a large factor. If I'm going to pay 30K for a base Maverick, I'm buying something else.
