The more you know 💫
Yeah when I went down a mile or 2 of steep grade I had to pump the brake pads like crazy while the engine was revving. Probably more brake wear in those few minutes than in the prior 7 months since I bought the truck.
I know this thing is amazing. My favorite was when I got 58 MPG one way on a 20 minute or so trip and figured it must have just been a lot of downhill and I'd pay for it on the way back but then ended up getting something like 63 going the other way. And then I try to think about what the...
Yeah who knows. Maybe they're not very precise on determining which vehicles the recall applies to. I've had zero powertrain issues either before or after that recall was done. Anyway I have 2 new recalls now that I've found out about within like a week so hopefully I can get them both done at...
I know that was the only open recall I had at the time and that was what I brought it in for. I thought the update was for the BCM and didn't involve PCM. Maybe there was a newer PCM version that wasn't part of the recall but they updated anyway. Or it could have to do with the PCM version from...
The only recall I had done was for the lack of blinker outage notification. I thought that was a BCM update. I didn't think they touched the PCM. But I checked NHTSA and I have this recall, which states it's to fix a recent PCM update. I never had any of the power loss issues other hybrids were...
I had a similar experience on a long downhill grade. I was using Low gear mode on the shifter to help slow the truck down. I believe the high RPMs started when the hybrid battery was full and switched from regen to engine braking. I could see the brake pedal potentially doing the same thing...
Happened again today. It seems to be a similar issue to this one that's been reported on F150s with the B&O sound system:

I also have the...
I got flashed several times when I had a full kitchen set in the bed at night. Probably makes the front end point high enough to become a problem for oncoming drivers.
My policy is renewing next month at $849 for the year for my 23 Hybrid Lariat. Up from $833 for last year. Probably just inflation/greedflation. It's actually a decent chunk less than the premium for my wife's CR-V which is 5 years older and costs $951 for the year.
My experience has been that without running the cabin heat the engine reaches operating temp pretty quickly, within a couple of minutes. Seems to be at some point after the engine temp gauge hits one bar but before it reaches two. After that ICE will turn off if it's not needed. Running heat or...
Except if you can get tax credits and incentives for the PHEV it may be worth it. Now that the EV market is losing steam this may be where a lot of the interest goes. A lot of people could do most of their daily driving within the electric range.
Had the same issue with my hybrid. It was ice buildup from snow that hadn't been completely cleared from the wiper well. Especially around the bases of the wiper arms. I think the hybrid might be more prone to this since the engine isn't always running and heating up the hood to melt it. Wipers...
