100%. This is what I have done. Right angle USB cable following the curvature of the console, under the dividing line of the removable tray and then finally through a puncture to allowed connection whilst in the cradle.

My Mazda3 had the best set up. It was a fob that contained a physical key that could be completely seperated from the fob. It was much smaller overall than the Ford fob. With my Mazda I could go for a run, leave the fob in the car and tie the keys to my shoe. I need a dang backpack for this...
