I was shopping for a cheap used commuter sedan awhile back on Craigs list and those Hyundai engines appear to have issues. Many of the adds indicated ānew engine installedā. For the few adds compared to a Toyota for example the ratio of major work completed or needed was off the charts.

I drive by our local dealers every day and the lots are empty. No Toyotaās, Mazdaās, Fords and so on. Ford not only hit a home run but back to back to back grand slams with Bronco, Maverick, F150 lightning . In normal times those vehicle would be everywhere.
Agree that Ford may have underestimated the popularity of the Maverick. They also overestimated the popularity of the Edsel. šµāš«Manufacturing runs are based on expected volume and can be slightly adjusted based on demand.
The issue with the Maverick, Lighting Pickup, Bronco and so on is supply...

Honestly enough with āFord dropping the ballā comments. Every auto manufacturer is having production issuesā¦..all of them. You donāt think Ford wants to sell as many of these little pickups as possible?
We had a 2012 Toyota Prius and the thing that killed the MPG was.
Highway driving
Not being in eco mode
Increases in speed
Driving in the city with the regenerative braking would put us in the high 40ās. Highway would be the high 30ās. We did a combo of both and weāre about 45 mpg.

My friend for almost 50 years (I am 58) ordered my truck two weeks before the cut off. He told me the hybrid is the biggest hold up. My hybrid order XLT with lux package is a total crap shoot.
Recently I was at an equipment conference (leasing industry) and providing chips for cars is lower on the food chain. Chips are being consumed by more expensive equipment (example farming) that can absorb the cost and will pay more.
crazy times
New model and it is a Ford. I am going to use it as a freeway flyer to get back and forth to work and have my mountain bike in the back for week day rides. If under the warranty period I have had little to know issues I may reconsider. Also will check the overall reliability. Hope I am wrong...
The only reason I ordered this truck was the non eco boost. My father in law has a Cmax (awful looking vehicle) but the hybrid system has been rock solid. I normally keep my vehicles for a long time ( current Toyota product has 230K miles) but with the Maverick (even the hybrid) I canāt see...
Same here! Ordered in early November and this was my first communication. I was expecting that my vehicle was moved into production but no such luck. My dealer also set my expectations for a May delivery when I ordered but it seems that date will be missed. All goodā¦.I will just patiently wait
Nice review! The best part is you are providing your impressions based on what the Maverick isā¦ā¦a cheap truck.
As others have said the best play was to buy the vehicle and tell the dealer you donāt have a trade in. They used the old 4 square to pay you less than what your old vehicle was worth...
