  1. Pop up campers great for Maverick 4k tow

Most tear-drop trailers are incredibly non-aerodynamic. The shape creates an air-pocket (i.e., drag) between the pulling vehicle and the trailer. The angle of the back of the tear-drop is also wrong on most trailers (too much of an angle) and causes vortices that cause more drag. To make matters...
  2. How long should I wait for the new Maverick?

I think most of us that ordered a Hybrid are looking at a 9-12 month wait. If it comes in sooner than that, that is a bonus. There are still orders from June that have not even been scheduled yet. In the current environment, there are not a lot of options. If you are not willing to fork over $$$...
  3. ARE Bed Cap for Maverick (First Look Pics)

Wow. That looks like crap. I am amazed they would put that at a trade-show. Front edge above the cab? Really?
  4. Any who ordered Lariat Hybrid in October receive a build date/VIN yet?

10/1 order. Heard nothing so far and not expecting to. My crystal ball still seems to be pointing to "late summer". There are still a few Junes, lots of July orders, and most August hybrid orders that don't even have VINs or build dates yet.
  5. Went to see my dealer today

Thanks for the post. I fully expect some MY22 to be converted to MY23. The real question is "how many?". When Hybrid orders were stopped in November, I expect Ford had some optimistic plan to fill all the orders by September. However, "best laid plans of mice and men". Between plant closures...
  6. Ordered Hybrid XL 11/3, told on 1/12 could be six months

I ordered a month ahead of you and even then was told it would be at least April/May. That has now slipped to June+. I still wonder if some of us won't end up getting the MY23 just by default. My guess is those that actually order a MY23 won't see them until CY23. Just with all the MY22 orders...
  7. Tips and Tricks to Improve MPG

Same as most vehicles. Go slow speeding up (keeping it in the optimal power band) and then going as slow on the highway as the traffic allows. Anything over 60 and you will likely see a measurable increase in fuel consumption (drag is a function of velocity squared). Coast to stops without using...
  8. Has anyone else who placed an order in October heard any news?

Placed my order on 10/1 and had the Ford Confirmation e-mail about an hour later. Have heard nothing since (did not get the "free stuff" e-mail that many got). When I placed the order, the dealer guesstimate was April/May timeframe. I can't image why yours would have estimated mid-January. That...
  9. Aftermarket spray in bed liner cost?

An aftermarket spray-in likely looks better anyway. Just make sure they go all the way up to the glass. The factory liner leaves the painted cross-strip behind the glass that looks terrible to me. Check the forums and you will see a really well-done after-market that goes to the glass.
  10. Does This X-Plan Price Look Right?

If you do the math and find that there is about $78 you can't explain, that is due to the fuel charge. While it shows as $0 under MSRP, on the Dealer invoice it shows up as around $78 or so. I personally have NEVER knowingly paid for fuel on a new vehicle but under X-plan this seems to be...
  11. 🚨My Hybrid Maverick window sticker with MPG!! 37 combined / 42 city / 33 highway

No. Not correct. Only standard if you get the CoPilot360 package. Otherwise you pay for it. Also, the "full size spare" is actually not full size and doesn't match the other 4 tires on the truck. It is just bigger than the normal donut.
  12. Factory Tires Sizes & Wheels Specs For 2022 Maverick: Width, Offset, Bolt Pattern, Center Bore, Thread Size, Weight

What is missing from the original post is that the "full size spare" is an Atlas 215/60R17. Bigger than the donut but not exactly "full size" as compared to the other 4 tires. Like many, I had originally assumed I could just add this tire to the rotation (since ordered the XL with steel wheels)...
  13. Summary of my 2022 Maverick XLT issues so far

If it is a sealer, it is a rock-hard sealer (i.e., something like a JB-Weld) and not something like a caulk. All the ones I looked at were different and un-even (or even rough) at different spots (thus seemed to be done by hand and not a machine). You would think that if it was something like a...
  14. Summary of my 2022 Maverick XLT issues so far

I went to a Ford event today in Austin Texas and looked a 4 different pre-production Mavericks. All had this exact same issue. The bed joint area behind the passenger side all looked good (as good or better than the picture above). However, behind the driver side were varying degrees of...
  15. Ford Built to Connect outdoor drive festival at Republic Square in Austin Oct 15-24

Went to the event today. They had 4 Mavericks. Only 1 was available to ride in which was a Hybrid XLT (they had a driver take you around a 200 foot course). The displays had the power turned off so you could not adjust the powered driver-side seat. My main reason for going was to make sure my...
  16. Why no Ford promotions and discounts off MSRP for Maverick

Curious as to how this is going to work out for you. I have already contacted over a dozen dealers within 100 miles of me (plus a couple of more that are over 200 miles from me). Most dealers view any discussion about the Maverick as an inconvenience. There is absolutely zero "hunger" to sell at...
  17. TX State Fair Auto Show

Had a long talk with my neighbor this afternoon. It sounded like there were a total of 3 at the Fair of Friday. There is one behind a barrier in the convention hall and then the two shown in the picture above. She said the Ford reps she talked to were completely clueless on the Maverick. When...
  18. Dallas Ft Worth Area Maverick dealer trainer demos?

Yes, the have a Maverick. My neighbor is sending me pictures of the interior of a Maverick right now. Looks like they are letting people sit in them (had her check how much room between the rear seat and front seat: 6"-16") Will ask her tomorrow how many they have.
  19. TX State Fair Auto Show

Neighbor is sending me pictures from the State Fair right now. With the front seat all the way back, there is 6 inches between back seat and from seat. With the front seat all the way forward, there is 16 inches between the seats (but only 6 inches of knee space between the front seat and dash).
  20. Ford said Maverick ineligible for X-Plan

Something seems wrong with your X-Plan numbers. Based on .4% under Invoice ($19,595) plus $275 admin fee the XL number should be $19,791.62. Did something change to the X-Plan?
