What is the benefit of the flares? The downsides of holding dirt and potentially damaging the paint and the fact that they look like exactly what they are - taped on plastic semi circles - I just don't see the reasoning?

Huh. The front end looks awful - the body colored filler panel extending up to the lights is bad and the headlights themselves are ugly (they are ugly now across the Ford truck lineup). I surprisingly don't like the body colored plastic either - it looks like a cheap kit or something. I do...

They do look nice! Very clean.

I'm looking to go the other way and get rid of the black wheels that came with mine. Black hides all the detail and design.

Had to swap the stock wheels back on the Jaguar F-Type I sold when I bought the Maverick.
