I removed the driver's side center console kick plate, and reached back to disconnect the switch wiring harness. I was then able to press the side tabs and eject the switch assembly from below. You need skinny forearms to do this, and I did get a few scratches.
Attached are some pictures to...
I did a neat block heater upgrade...instead of opening the hood every time I plug in (and I didn't like the look of leaving the plug pinched outside the hood)
The NOCO bulkhead connector fits perfectly on the lower left bumper skirt.
Drill a 2 inch hole, and the connector fits perfectly. There...
BTW....the truck was a total loss after this deer collision. Collision shop estimated $24k for repairs. Luckily I was able to find a near exact replacement with my insurance settlement!
Check the run-out on the hub/rotor using a dial indicator. I had the same issues as you, and my hub was out of spec. I was able to get the dealer to verify and replace the entire hub under warranty.....problem solved.
I'm thinking if they havw
The dashcam is a Rove R2-4K. It has a small screen, and I have it wired into the fuse center using a pigtail connector at position 3. I've had a few dashcams over the years, and this model has lasted the longest (2.5 years so far).
I did 3D print my own mount for the...
Despite my love for this truck, the past year has not been fun dealing with excess brake noise and wear. After 4 dealer visits, I finally got the front hub bearings replaced due to excess run-out on the hubs
Feeling happy again, I wrapped the hood last weekend...did a pretty good job for my...
I ended up buying OEM slider pins and boot/bushings from the dealer...and replaced them. That improved the calipers stiffness quite a bit. As a result the rattling noise has mostly disappeared, however, on the roughest roads there is still a bit of rattling. Maybe I am hyper aware of the...
No drilling required. I was going to use some silicone or double sided tape to help fix it in place, but the firm fit around the center console embossment seems to be good enough.
That's exactly what I was thinking originally ...but that idea devolved into this, lol. I thought of doing some sort of geneva mechanism to convert linear movement into rotational actuation of the knob...but it would get complicated since it would need a shift lock to avoid accidentally...
I built a faux gear shift hand rest for the Mav. I find my right arm looking for a place to rest with the absence of a lever gear shift.
3D printed with some carbon fiber infused PETG...two miniature gas struts and a repurposed skipping rope handle.
I did another inspection of the front brakes. There seems to be a lot of play in the slider pin to bracket interface...more than other vehicles I've had in the past. I measured the diameter of the Carlson brand sliders...and they measure 11.96mm diameter. I checked the old sliders that I...
The shims are installed. The brake job is perfect. I've done brakes on a dozen car models for 25 years with no issues.
I am wondering if its a tolerance issue with the pad fit?
Maybe when more 2022's have their first brake jobs this might register as a common issue?
I will rig up a camera and mic near the brake caliper and see if I can confirm its coming from the caliper assembly. Unless there is something internal going on with the struts....I will have to eliminate each suspect component. I actually brought it to the dealer for this problem and they...
