Ford spokesperson's quote follows that line: Update September 9, 2021, 8:24 a.m. ET: In a response to Jalopnik, Ford Communications Manager Dawn McKenzie confirmed the validity of the bulletin but reaffirmed that the decision concerns scheduling, not production. This is Ford’s official statement:

The dealer said that Ford has reached its allocation for hybrid builds on the Maverick until 2023. Maybe it was BS, but that’s what he said.

Right? Lol There’s no microchip in a roll up tonneau cover. But news articles say the chip shortage in Japan and Malaysia is causing Ford and other automakers to delay production.
