An update: They did have to replace the entire engine on my 2022; they said it was a result of a firmware update? Whatever - I'm glad there were a few weeks left on the warranty. However, the truck still wasn't right and we'd had so many issues we were just done. As it happened, the dealer did...
I don't know. They've been paying for a rental Explorer for us for a month now. Not sure how happy they are about that.
At any rate, our relationship with this truck has run its course. Are people generally happy with their hybrids?
It was in twice for a faulty connection that would cause it to drive fine and then not restart after stopping (this happened most memorably near an erupting volcano). This time is less clear - we took it in for the check engine light and various recalls. My husband was driving it home two days...
I really need a truck but I also really want an efficient vehicle. We got one of the very first Maverick Hybrid's off the line and it's been... not great. It's currently parked at the dealership where it's been for a month waiting for a part. It has fewer than 15,000 miles on it. This is its...
So after three weeks of waiting for the harness and two full days of work at the shop we're good to pick up the truck. Let's hope we can drive more than 600 miles before the next thing breaks.
Yep, they're saying it's the harness. And it's backordered. But it's the battery cable going into the harness but I guess you can't just splice in a new cable, you have to replace the entire (backordered) harness. It was really cool having a new truck for a month.
Ours dead as well after a month. We didn't get the deep sleep warning, however. It can be jumped, but not restarted again once stopped without another jump. Had towed to dealer, last I heard there's a possible recall and some part that is (of course) back ordered. Sigh. It's a brand new truck...
For other Hawaii residents wondering what delivery timeline might look like: our build was 11/17, built 12/1, shipped 12/2, arrived at Orchid Isle in Hilo (I'm pretty sure on Pasha's Jean Anne) on 1/6. A little over one month for shipping not actually that bad! Haven't met the truck yet, not...
XL hybrid, build 11/17, shipped 12/2 with an anticipated delivery of 1/9/22. I also ordered through Mike at Orchid Isle, who said a while back that shipping would take 6-8 weeks, so we'll see. Anyone have any idea who Ford uses for shipping?
Honestly, it never occurred to me that paying over...
Shipped email today. Estimated to arrive 1/3-1/9. I kind of doubt it because it has to go from rail to boat, and when I ordered the dealer said to expect 6 to 8 weeks more waiting after shipping, but it's nice to see it moving, anyway.
Not sure how far I trust it. My truck has been in production since 11/17 and today an estimated delivery of 12/30 popped up. Now, I live in Hawaii. It takes longer than that to ship toilet paper, so I'm thinking nah.
