I would not have any problem paying $100 for the autostopeliminator if it was offered from Ford. I worry that it might damage something in the electrical system and the warranty might not cover it.
One thing I might add. You may want to put a drop of blue locktite on the threads of the back stud. I removed my cover today and the right rear stud had backed out about 3 turns. I did not tighten it really snug because it was plastic and I was afraid of breaking it.
I just wish you were 400 miles away from me instead of 800. If we were just closer I would offer you a set of steelies off my Maverick with 350 miles on them and $500 boot to meet me halfway and swap out our wheels.

That's probably true for most people. I am 71 and don't have to commute to work anymore. Mostly just drive into town every couple of days. I have had my Maverick almost a month now and have 251 miles on it.
