Yeah, as you could probably tell, I’m not really uptight about the situation. It is what it is. You get hit with a brick so many times, it eventually stops hurting. Lol. It does beg the question though of just how far into December or January they will push the start of my23 production.
I was just informed by Ford Chat that my build week is now the week of November 21. I guess that means one of two things…..I won’t be getting a 2022 or that they are extending the build year through all of November. This is my 9th or 10th weekly move. VIN as of July. Original week August 29...
My original build week was August 29. Had my VIN in July. I’ve never been within 3 weeks before it gets pushed back again. Ford clearly has no idea what parts they will have when.
I agree. A ceramic coating like gtechniq csl will make it look fantastic for a few years at least. Best bet is to PPF the leading edges and surfaces then ceramic over everything. Best of both worlds.
That really stinks. Without a VIN you are toast though for 22. At least by next summer they should have all the kinks worked out. Or, someone else will have a small hybrid truck.
Geez. A new winner. Not like this is a race or competition but, if it was, it would be a race to the bottom I guess.
We need to get the pool going before FMC pushes the last build week back again. I'll take the week of Dec 5 as the last 22 build week now. Any other bidders?
The other seldom-mentioned benefit of the 2.5 engine is its port-injection, vs the 2.0 direct injection turbo. I’d put money on the 2.5 lasting a lot longer without issues than the 2.0 regardless of the hybrid battery question. I have actually. Lol
Production “week” pushed back 8 times but I may have missed one or two. I’ve actually had a “day” as well, or was told it was a day. That came and went several weeks ago. Nine more days will be one year from order. HPR hybrid lariat lux cp360.
At the current rate that existing 22 hybrid orders are being pushed back into November (mine included - for the 8th time), expect the following……
1. Few of any hybrids to start the 23MY
2. A much later start to the 23MY build, early December possible but more likely late, outside chance...
Same logic applies to overbooking airline seats. The seller knows that even if everybody shows up for their seat (truck), they can offer to “buy out” or “pay off” those that truly don’t have a seat (or won’t get built). This guarantees 100% capacity fill, which, at least to the airlines is...
