Re: "Did you ride them up...?" Did that once (when I was young & foolish) loading my '72 Kawasaki Mach III into my '68 El Camino. It did NOT go well. Fortunately the injuries were very minor.
Mine ('25 Lariat) slammed on the brakes a few times when I backed into my driveway. The offending 'obstacle' was leaves of my hedge. I'm more careful backing in now.
Commuting to work + picking up lumber (LOVE the 45 degree tailgate)+ picking up garden/landscape materials (soil, rocks, bricks). Over time, the box is NOT gonna look pretty. A clean pickup box is the sign of a sick mind.
From what I've read, the car companies are starting to realize that a lot of us are fed up with everything done via touch-screen, and are planning to start designing in more physical controls. Just be prepared to wait out the long design-to-production cycles.
:crackup: The original VWs were the butt of a lot of practical jokes. At my workplace, guys would secretly pour extra gas into one guy's VW tank. He was bragging about how his mileage kept getting better and better. Then they stopped. He took it back to the dealer and demanded they fix it.
