Yeah I don't think I'm asking for something unreasonable here. It's 2021. Should be standard. Period.
Now if Ford wants to make a basic feature like that an option on the XL model so they can offer it at $19,999; fine, but I'm literally going to get laughed at for having a truck with Android...
I'm probably just going to get the stripper model. My idea was to get an XL and add quite a few options to make it the way I like (a quasi "STX" if you will). I prefer the all black (with bits of blue and grey) interior on the XL to the XLT's but there's no point of trying to re-create a...
Also lane keep assist shouldn't be confused with lane centering. Lane keep assist is basically a system to nudge you back into the lane if you come over to the line. Lane centering works with the radar cruise control to effectively help drive the vehicle (aka Tesla Autopilot Lite).
You'd think that, but if you look over the details on the options page and what the Copilot 360 package says it adds.. no, it doesn't. Which makes literally 0 sense. How can you give me lane keep assist with no basic cruise control?? But that's what Ford is doing. Per the spec sheet; cruise...
My guess is it will be one of those things where it says 87 is fine, but being a turbo you may get better performance on 91+. Most modern high efficiency turbo engines running 87 are really doing a lot of ecu/timing work to prevent pinging constantly; they're just so good at staying right on the...
Yeah what I've heard is dealers really hate programming anything not factory. You ask them to hook up for 5 minutes and change like 1 or 2 parameters (aka cruise_control_function=enabled; cc_buttons=1) and they just freak out and say "impossible no one has ever done that". But then if you do it...
Lol I didn't expect this thread to go downhill; but mostly if anyone from Ford is reading the thread, PLEASE add a cruise control option for the XL. It's literally the only thing keeping me from paying you $24,000 this fall when available. Thank you,
And yes I am moving to Los Angeles from Saint Louis and I do occasionally plan to make that 2 day drive back/forth. So yes, cruise control is absolutely required bud.
Lol yes what's the point in cruise control in a truck that gets 33mpg highway? Who would ever drive that on the highway? Also "entitled"? Yes I think if I am paying $24k for a vehicle optioned out I am entitled to a feature found in cars 70 years ago. It's not entitlement to ask Ford to include...
And to everyone saying "well they're making it cheap they have to remove something on the XL" I get it.. but that's why on all the other XL model Ford trucks cruise is a part of a package that adds some other nonsense items like power mirrors for $1,000. So that you can buy it completely...
Idk, I took a peek over on some other forums and saw that the F-250 XL owners are having a massive pain trying to add cruise control. Everything is computer controlled/enabled now. It might be as simple as just adding buttons but my guess is it's going to be a whole mess, and maybe not even...
Exactly. It's pretty much a deliberate XLT ploy. But come on, at least offer it in the co-pilot assist package. How can you have a co-pilot assist package and yet no cruise control?
It's such a bummer. I was prepared to order one today. Blue with hitch, bedliner, sunroof, Co-pilot 360, rear window; I was ready to add over $2,000 of options to the base truck but now I'm not sure what I'll do. I really don't like the XLT interior. I might just say "eh it's a work truck, $100...
How can it have "co-pilot 360" with freaking lane keep assist and automatic braking but not have cruise control? That's like saying yes you can option this XL steak with blue cheese crumbles or garlic aoli.. but ketchup is reserved for the XLT steak only.
Why not just delete the AC while at it? Heck let's also delete electronic start and install a pullcord. It's not nappa leather seats.. it's cruise control. Should be standard or at least optionable.
