The dealer called today and the the car has been delivered. The dealers in DFW have been raising holy hell about the delay at the rail yard. Ford is moving to clear the update back log at the rail yards nationwide. The total delay for me was 2/24/25 - 3/26/25.
My Honda had the same issue. An auxilliary wiring harness and the wiper fluid hoses had to be replaced. I had to put peppermint spray in the engine compartment and have had no issues since.
There is a Sync4 issue that Ford has to correct for all undelivered vehicles ( this includes Mach-E Maverick, and Bronco Sport. ) Ford did not have a fix so units backed up at the final transport points across the US. Ford now has a fix and the tools necessary to update the vehicles. It will...
In my case, My dealer has 236 Sync4 vehicles sitting at the rail depot waiting for delivery. Ford has to perform the service update on every car before before it can be transported to the dealer. This backup will probably cause additional delays in receiving your vehicle depending on how large...
The dealer called and ford had no reason for the delay. I called Ford and spoke with 4 different departments. They were just as perplexed. My feeling is that the transportation from the rail yard to the dealers in the area is having issues. You may not have issues.
The process is:

I don't want to be a downer but my Maverick shipping date was moved up two weeks. It has been sitting at the rail yard for the past 30 days. You pick it up when you pick it up.
I just called my dealer (in DFW TX) and ALL of their vehicles from Mexico ( Maverick Bronco Sport Mach E ) are sitting at the local train depot on hold from Ford ( do not release ). My Maverick has been their since 2/24. Ford will not speciify the reason for the hold.
"Quality is Job None"
You are absolutely right. Some car dealerships are morally corrupt. I have ordered 2 other vehicles and never had the experience of the bait and switch.
That's true for buying a vehicle on the lot. When you order a vehicle through the dealership, you signed a contract to purchase the vehicle. When you buy a vehicle on the lot, you sign the purchase agreement at the end. The dealership can change the price before you sign. Not after.
No problem. I've been a software network engineer for many years and I've seen some crazy things companies do to try to collect data. For me personally, I'm obsessive about controlling my personal data. If they don't have it, they can't misuse it or change their minds in the future.
The Telematics unit has two radios. Cell and wifi. Ford uses the Cell radio to transmit telemetry data if Ford Pass is not setup. If Ford Pass is installed and paired to the car, it will use it to transmit data if allowed to. Hotspot uses the telematics Wifi radio If you pay Ford's...
