Mine is the Area 51 Lariat FE. I had the FE decals removed because they started to come off in the car wash. I just had the front windows tinted to match the back. I think it looks fantastic without the decals and with the front tint.
I had the Fire Department come to my house a few weeks back (carbon monoxide leak) and after they cleaed the hause they stood around for 15 or 20 minutes asking questions and admiring my Mav. I was happy to show it to them.
Had my 2.0 AWD for 3 months as of today. Not one single problem so far. Well, the crappy FE decals started coming off in the car wash so I had them removed. I think it looks better without them.
While waiting for my Mav (with no build date) I looked and tested a Santa Cruz and liked it but the dealer wanted 10K ADM. I said no thanks. I love my Mav and glad I waited. Santa Cruz and Mav are now the only true small trucks, all others are now "mid-sized" including the Frontier.
My Lariat FE came with folding soft cover. It works great and looks good too. I do like the Roll N Lock but they take up a lot of room at the front of the bed.
As I got older and more able to afford more high end vehicles I decided I wasn't going to pay a high price and still have to shift my own gears. Not happening. Once I got used to the dial shifter (I had one in an Edge and Escape) I found that I like it better because it gives you more console room.
My Mav was delivered December 1st 2021. (ordered Jun 1st) There are several Ford dealers in the OKC area and I did see one base version at a dealer near me but 3 months later I still have not seen another one on the streets. I do Love my Lariat FE and love the Area 51 color. Can't wait to see...
The Area 51 Lariat FE decals started to come off my with the first car wash. I didn't like them anyway and thought they looked cheap (which in fact they are) I had them removed. Thats the only thing I dislike about my Mav so far.
I bought mine for one reason. I've been wanting a true "small" truck since they stopped making the small Ranger. Santa Cruz and Maverick are the only true small trucks right now. I looked at a Santa Cruz, nice truck, but the dealer wanted 10K ADM. I told him no thanks and waited for my Mav, Area...
Looks like a photo shopped picture to me, but hey, it could be for real. Here is the window sticker for mine and that's what I paid, less military discount plus normal dealer prep. Probably never see one like that again.
Had dial shifter in a couple of cars, Edge and Escape as well as my Mav. Once I got used to it I liked it and it gives you more room. But, to each his/her own.
When I tested a Santa Cruz (not knowing when of if I'd get my Mav) the sticker price was a little over 35K. Nice enough truck and I might have bought it but dealer wanted 10K ADM making it a little over 45K. I told him thanks but no thanks. I'm glad I waited.
Since I was a repeat customer (4 new vehicles in 4 years for me, daughter and granddaugher) I got mine for sticker less military discount plus normal dealer prep. Others were paying at least 3 to 5K above sticker. Mine is the Lariat FE sticker price was $35,955.
I really like the Cactus Gray and would have been my second choice (Area 51 Lariat FE). I'm considering the bed extender but haven't decided yet. I had the cheap FE decals removed from mine, I think it looks better without them.
I always liked the Ridgeline but thought they were a little overpriced. Now they are more mid-sized (like all the other brands) making the Mav and Santa Cruz the only true small trucks available. Here's my A51 Lariat FE after I had the worthless FE decals removed.
