Indeed, Delzona, using Tim as an example of how a dealer can reflect on Ford's image perfectly demonstrates the point I was attempting to make. He's an asset to the brand.
Maybe I'm a naive oldtimer, but I believe I'm not alone in that -- despite the company-independent dealership relationship -- there is at least an indirect reflection on the brand.
I became a Ford guy because growing up our family was close with our tiny town dealer's family. We knew the guy...
I understand the market issues quite well. And I expect to wait patiently for my truck.
What does Ford owe us? Maybe I'm just a delusional senior, but how about professionalism and honest expectations as a baseline? That should apply in ANY market condition. If you don't know, say you don't...
Tim: Here's what it's come down to for me. Since I have an email from the GM committing to a transfer of my order their idea and proposal, could I push Ford corporate to transfer me to a dealer with a lower allocation and get a quicker build? After getting the "allocation doesn't matter" talk...
Yup. Actually tried that yesterday. The dealership is so close I went during halftime of a basketball game. Would not see me ... "busy at the used car building."
I hate bugging folks with phone calls and that's how this whole mess started: I stopped by to ask about that Ford memo. As I told...

I didn't want to transfer my order. The dealer got ticked off because I had the audacity to ask about the memo. They offered the transfer to a dealer of my choice.
I tried to contact my local dealer on a late, late order. They did not contact me about this and instead completely blew me off, one time leaving me cooling my heels in the waiting area and another time dropping me after and hour and a half on hold. BTW, I'm not complaining about the wait for...
Had the same opinion on the SC when I saw one in real life. My wife drives a Tucson, which is a very nice rig. Fit and finish on Bama-built Hyundai is quite good. Were I to go with an SC, I'd definitely opt for the larger engine.
But I'm stuck waiting on my Lariat Lux order and my dealer is...
First post here. I appreciate all the advice. I'm a very late order so not expecting anything for a long time and NOT complaining about the wait (Even if it's longer than the four months ;) the sales guy predicted.)
But after reading this thread I went to my dealer to check on my Lariat Lux...
