Man, economies of scale and mass production cost savings blow my mind. Not that $6500 is a bad price, but 6.5k gets you a wooden pod with two wheels and 20k gets you a Maverick.
Looks clean! Are those just little quick splice clips?
Also, I saw you put your sub under the rear bench, where I've seen some others mount behind the rear bench. Looks a lot easier your way.
Looks like this harness is no longer available. 😭 I'm looking to install a Kicker HS10 to the B&O system. Are there any other "basic" options out there? The Plug N Play "Harness Only" kit is $80 now. At that price I think I'd rather just splice into the factory wiring.
If I end up going that...
@Darnon @colinl
I think the plan that's slowly taking shape on my mind is to get an HS10 and see how I feel about the sound. If I work up the courage to start popping panels, I'll do the center as the system seems to rely pretty heavily on it. I don't want to touch the tweeters, so I guess I'll...
It sounds like you're saying this amp gets you 90% of the way to a full a2b solution for a fraction of the effort. Unless I'm really misunderstanding the B&O system, you'd just unplug the speakers from the factory amp, connect the factory amp to the Key, then the speaker wiring that originally...
I'm doing everything I can to justify not digging into the dash at all. Really dislike the sound from the dash, but I suspect that might be the center channel if you say the tweeters are fine.
I was considering installing coaxial speakers in the doors but it sounds like you're saying they don't...
Worth the effort or was your resistor solution a "good enough" half-measure?
Idk I watched BlakeCars video and it looked positively miserable lol. And clips were broken in the process as well.
Thanks for that insight. Hadn't considered that. I just read your thread on installing the new center. Looks fairly easy (as opposed to the tweeters, which look like a nightmare). Are you still satisfied with the Infinity or would you try something else if you had it to do over?
I agree with you 100% so I think we may have similar ears. Is the resistor still in place? It sounds like a quick and easy fix.
This got me thinking (and perhaps I'm about to ask a stupid question) about upgrading some speakers and just deleting others. Could I get some nice 6.5" coaxial...
Agreed. It's especially funny considering what a big deal they made about the tall water bottles fitting in the doors. "We thought of everything!" lol it's okay Mavvy I still love you. I'm glad this community has pitched in to give OP many good ideas.
Fair, thanks for the thoughtful reply. I'm sure it would make a lot of people happy to be able to decide what settings/modes/powereds get remembered or forgotten from start to start.
I'd like to have the seat warmer default to off on every start, instead of remembering my last setting. But I'm...
So I guess what I'm hearing, through all the sarcasm, is that the radio power setting is "sticky" (unlike drive mode selection, for instance) and if you turned off the car with the radio on, it powers up with the radio on.
So I guess my question is, is there a way to "unsticky" the radio power...
Hey guys, searched the forum and was surprised not to see a thread on this. If I just missed it, please link me.
I use Android Auto, and have the auto-play music disabled. So when I start my truck and connect my phone, no music until I hit play. Perfect.
I don't connect my phone for every...
