I disagree, price really has nothing to do with it. If it did then the Frontier, Colorado & Canyon also are not in the same class as the Maverick as their base price is much more than the Maverick also. Ford choose this vehicle to build, they have to realize people will compare and cross-shop...
The pattern of Cruise not being standard on the (3) vehicles is accurate although the ordering process pattern is broken when Maverick is the only one of the (3) vehicles which doesn't allow it to be purchased via a package. Even the dealers can't figure this one out. I worked (34) years in the...
Cruise is available w/ an optional package on both the Ranger XL and F150 XL, it's not on the Maverick.
My selling dealer's salesman could not believe Cruise isn't available on the XL, in fact he stated that's has to be wrong and pulled in the Sales Manager who went through all the dealer data...
I have not really used a slider since they eliminated vent windows. That was just about the best ventilation system going. Open the slider, the vent windows and the cowl vents, perfect. (y)
I agree with you regarding the bed, the composite box is great. I had one on my Tacoma and at 110K, it looked like new. I also feel it helped with dampening road noise in the rear.
Toyota use to not offer CC on their base Tacomas. The owners figured out it was a Plug and Play w/ factory stalk with the wiring and plug inside the column. Well that too place for a year or two until the plug and wiring magically disappeared. :-[
The aftermarket CC I had installed by a...
Unfortunately, the bare bones Ranger XL 2WD only sits about .3" lower. I'm not short although see this as a issue for loading. That said, if you buy the Maverick and want to load Plywood/Drywall, etc., you'll have to lift it to the height of the 2x's you put in place in the notches. I've a...
Not the current gen Ranger. I know what the testers have written which I question. I bought my first new truck in 1972 and still have a truck. I've found that testers typically don't drive pick ups a lot and the rear leaf spring suspension seems rough to them. They are compared to a car or car...
Oddly enough I cross shopped the Maverick and Ranger. The Ranger has a lot going for it in it's most basic form IMO. Longer box, full frame, 10 speed trans, larger more powerful engine, etc. Best of all, it's made in the USA. I've own two vehicles made in Mexico and neither one was worth writing...
With the high number of reservations, I think you'll be hard pressed to negotiate a substantial discount.
The Ford Employees have the best hand at this point. I'm eligible for X plan if it's offered although the lower the MSRP, the less you'll get off.
Dealer fees, Ford's Destination charges &...
You're correct, that said, I wonder about the 10,000 Ford Trucks that are suppose to be parked at Kentucky Speedway. Rather than shut the lines down, they moved them there awaiting installation of chips. These are 2021's, once chips arrive, are they going to be sold and when they're gone, 2022's...
I agree and think they're edging slowly towards this. There are several aspects of the car buying experience which are archaic to say the least, wasted money, time and nothing but games.
Most of the dealers in my area have combined their sales, used and new in order to take care of a huge increase in used car sales. For some odd reason, I have a tough time feeling sorry for dealerships.
I've owned a lot of vehicles over the (52) years I've driven. I know of no car company which has not built a ringer at one time or another including Toyota, Honda, Ford, etc. I actually traded in my Toyota truck for the Chevy truck I now drive. The Chevy is so much better in regards to...
