Chip shortages are just the beginning, gas, rubber...more...we might be headed for some serious belt tightening time, I hope Ford doesn't plan on just surviving onoverpriced f150 profits, they're gonna need some entry level products
In Canada good luck finding a ranger for less than 40k cad (33k usd), the cheapest way to a new pick up are the Colorado twins, and f150's are worse, for anyone that wants anything cheaper there's no way into a new Ford truck, let alone any pick up truck except the Santa Cruz soon
I think the more Important question is where is this prototype now and how can we see more...maybe we can start a thread just for casual sightings in facebook groups and stuff? There has to be more pics out there
Hyundai makes so many small profit cars they can cannibalize from them for higher profit cars like the Santa Cruz, with the maverick being at the bottom of Ford's line up they backed themselves into a corner
They can call it whatever they want, both small unibody vehicles with a bed that will target similar demographics, Hyundai has slowed down plants, but nothing in North America, unlike ford.
Also keep in mind Santa Cruz has made a public debut before as a concept and now as an actual model, way...

I think we found our answer, no release, no need to provide chips for maverick, Hyundai is gonna enjoy a segment all to itself for now
The biggest concern is that both competitors were supposed to enter the market together, of Ford is gonna leave hyundai to create a new segment and have it all to themselves with the maverick coming in at a later second...that's a lot of potential sales lost.
Since it's not revealed yet, no problem stalling supply...no harm no foul 😔
It's kind of ironic since now Is when a trade in would be worth the most, I hope they share enough chips to start production, but I'm believing more and more that it'll be a 2022 model for November
