I have had my Mav for just over a year and just took my first long trip in it. We had to go to Texas from MS. I was a bit bummed on the mileage, getting about 33 mpg. The road is pretty flat, so not much regen going on. Adaptive cruise worked well, except the few times I had to do the braking to...
Here is how I looked at it. Maverick and Ford have had issues, so I wanted to protect myself. Also, I don't plan on buying another vehicle, so I will be keeping it over 10 years. My extended warranty is extended further by my dealer for no charge. If for some reason I sell it, the warranty goes...
You don't have to use it. I got my 2025 right before they added it. Argued with the dealer to take off the charge since it didn't have it. It looks useful for backing up to hook up a trailer. I probably would have used it once for kicks and never again.
I had a Lexus that had auto tilting mirrors when in reverse. Very helpful! I back down a friend's steep drive all the time using the mirrors. I haven't driven over his sprinklers or lights, yet. I guess I have my mirrors low enough that I don't need to adjust them. I rarely use the camera...
Welcome back, Kotter, er, EMD_Driver! I hope you get another 100k+ out of your new Maverick! You know the old saying, "If there are no pictures, it didn't happen!"
I got some free ones from Amazon when I was a member of their Vines program. They are 3W brand and have been pretty good with all weather coverage. They sell for $117, so may not be that good of a deal.
I never had an engine that liked 85. I had to spend the extra amount to get higher octane to keep my engine from knocking. The last time I was in Colorado I had an Avalanche. It was not cheap to feed that beast!
Checking it requires planning by recording mileage at fillups, math, and me being the one that fills it. I can do math. My wife fills it over half the time and doesn't reset the mileage, and I know she won't log the mileage in a book or write it on the receipt, if she gets one. So, I just...
My '25 Lariat will automatically apply the parking brake if I am parked on an incline. I never applied the parking on any of my vehicles, unless i was parked on a pretty steep incline, or I had to crawl under it. My dad used a parking brake every time he parked and got out. Evidently, it was...
Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. If my battery was dead when I got home, I would use my jump starter and drive it a bit. If it ruined my battery, I would replace it and question my life choices, or vehicle choices.
I grew up in Odessa, TX, and dust gets everywhere, especially during sandstorms! All you can do is try to seal the worst places. My Mav gets a bit of water in the back when it rains or gets washed. I turned on the bed light and closed the tailgate and can see light on both sides at the back of...
Damn! I have been looking for that sock! I now have one stinky shoe!
I have never carried one in a car. I have one at the house, but it is old and needs a recharge. I always get asked if I could put is somewhere else. There is never a good place.
I can't stand wearing polarized glasses! They screw up my screens on my phone, watch, or truck display. I was just reminded why I don't ever wear my $300 Maui Jim's. Polarized! They do help some with glare, but the trade off isn't worth it for me.
I noticed it the first time I drove at night. I turned down the brightness. It's still there, but not as distracting. Ford engineers have had me scratching my head since I got a 2014 F-150, and now I am down to just a few tufts of hair! They do some things great, then something simple they just...
The loyalty $1500 and a rebate are two separate things and should be usable together. You might even be able to swing the Farm Bureau $500 discount, but they might balk at that.
The only brand I have had experience with that has loaners is Lexus. You pay for that luxury, but they sure treat their customers well. Our dealer was 60 miles away and when we made an appointment, they asked if we wanted a loaner while they did the work. If you waited, they had a plush room...
