We're thinking of going with My Ole Pappy (Pappy for short), then see if anyone gets the reference. Or maybe go in a totally different direction and call it Bilbo, since it is a Hobbit truck.
Hmmm. I called Four Wheel Campers, the maker of the camper in the still shot, this afternoon. The gentleman that I spoke to assured me that they have looked into the Maverick and, due to the bed size, have NO intention or interest in making a camper for it. I truly hope he was mistaken but will...
Just got off the phone with Four Wheel Campers. Was told that they positively are NOT presently developing a camper for the Maverick. The person I spoke to said that they have looked into it and the bed is just too small.
The one in the Thrifty Overlander video is a one off custom job. Probably not very thrifty. Very interested to see what Four Wheel Campers, the brand in the first video, decides to build for Maverick. Check out their Project M.
Not into bungee jumping but I've been to Bridge Day twice and have rappelled from the catwalk under the bridge to the ground, well over 800 ft, multiple times... And still writing.
Thanks everyone. Don't have a Mav yet and hadn't really thought it all the way through. I'll figure out how to connect the inverter directly to the battery if we use it in the Mav. AND I'll leave the seat up.
The cable for the inverter are 4 ga (I think). Thicker than most jumper cables. I cut the cables in the middle and added heavy duty quick connects so I can leave half the invert cable connected to the battery. Only takes a few seconds to connect.
At first, I would turn on the AC to force the...
With the system "drive ready" (green light on the dash) on our 2011 Escape Hybrid, we've run power tools off the 2000 watt/4000 peak inverter. The engine starts when it needs to. I'm not sure, but I think it pulls power from the high voltage battery. So far, so good. If someone knows of a...
Thanks Mach 1 for confirming that the positive jump start lug is threaded. If we ever do get Pappy, I'll need to add cables for our 2000 watt inverter that presently turns out Escape Hybrid into a generator when we need one. We use quick connects so the vehicle stays wired and we just plug in...
