  1. Anybody pick out a name for your truck?

We're thinking of going with My Ole Pappy (Pappy for short), then see if anyone gets the reference. Or maybe go in a totally different direction and call it Bilbo, since it is a Hobbit truck.
  2. Have you seen any Mavericks in your town?

Still waiting on our XL but I've seen several around NW Arkansas.

We bought a 2011 Escape Hybrid with 36k miles on it. Now over 170k; still going strong. Relax. Or buy something else you are more comfortable with.
  4. Good news.... I think?

It feels kinda like our little 4 wheeled computer is being brought to life one step at a time.
  5. Good news.... I think?

Chat Rep said Aug 8 is still the build week and I can see this now. Not sure what it means but good I think.
  6. Future Maverick Models

A very nice lady at BestTop told me that they have already built a few for Mavericks.
  7. Cool pop-up camper

Hmmm. I called Four Wheel Campers, the maker of the camper in the still shot, this afternoon. The gentleman that I spoke to assured me that they have looked into the Maverick and, due to the bed size, have NO intention or interest in making a camper for it. I truly hope he was mistaken but will...
  8. Four wheel camper Project M

Just got off the phone with Four Wheel Campers. Was told that they positively are NOT presently developing a camper for the Maverick. The person I spoke to said that they have looked into it and the bed is just too small.
  9. Cool pop-up camper

The one in the Thrifty Overlander video is a one off custom job. Probably not very thrifty. Very interested to see what Four Wheel Campers, the brand in the first video, decides to build for Maverick. Check out their Project M.
  10. Took the Mav to New River Gorge this weekend.

Not into bungee jumping but I've been to Bridge Day twice and have rappelled from the catwalk under the bridge to the ground, well over 800 ft, multiple times... And still writing.
  11. What option was missing from 2022 options?

In the opposite direction, I'd love to have vinyl or rubber floors vs. carpet and maybe even vinyl seats. Yes, I'd put covers on the vinyl seats.
  12. Yipeeeee. Got a VIN by calling Ford

But still haven't gotten an email from Ford this time around.
  13. Yipeeeee. Got a VIN by calling Ford

Got a VIN and target build date of 8/4!!!! Vanilla XL Hybrid ordered 10/6/21 I think.
  14. Hybrid Maverick engine jump start directions/recommendations

Thanks everyone. Don't have a Mav yet and hadn't really thought it all the way through. I'll figure out how to connect the inverter directly to the battery if we use it in the Mav. AND I'll leave the seat up.
  15. Hybrid Maverick engine jump start directions/recommendations

I don't remember the Amperage. Pro grade Porter Cable circular saw, not worm drive, run intermittently.
  16. Hybrid Maverick engine jump start directions/recommendations

The cable for the inverter are 4 ga (I think). Thicker than most jumper cables. I cut the cables in the middle and added heavy duty quick connects so I can leave half the invert cable connected to the battery. Only takes a few seconds to connect. At first, I would turn on the AC to force the...
  17. 2022 Ford Maverick Gets New Accessories in Brazil

You had me at "bed extender". Please post a picture or link if you have one.
  18. Hybrid Maverick engine jump start directions/recommendations

With the system "drive ready" (green light on the dash) on our 2011 Escape Hybrid, we've run power tools off the 2000 watt/4000 peak inverter. The engine starts when it needs to. I'm not sure, but I think it pulls power from the high voltage battery. So far, so good. If someone knows of a...
  19. Hybrid Maverick engine jump start directions/recommendations

Thanks Mach 1 for confirming that the positive jump start lug is threaded. If we ever do get Pappy, I'll need to add cables for our 2000 watt inverter that presently turns out Escape Hybrid into a generator when we need one. We use quick connects so the vehicle stays wired and we just plug in...
