I used an Aukey brand dash cam as a temp solution until I got a permanent install--not on my Maverick though. The Aukey has a stick on pad or suction cup mount and a usb or 12V plug in. They are fairly inexpensive < $50 and offer a decent picture. With a usb port in the rear seat, one can put...
My Lexus is also a hybrid and excellent driving across country-34-36 mpg. Very comfortable for me. Have not had the chance to drive the Maverick much--usually just a short 30 or 40 minute drive to the Odessa Midland area and it seems to perform pretty good--quiet, seems comfortable--have not...
And living in a small town, it is even worse. We always have to drive 40 miles to the local Home Depot or Lowes. The local stores here charge more than an arm and a leg.
No, granted it won't drive like my Lexus, but it does drive pretty good and is quiet. Still working on getting a few things taken care of on it. Like the tonneau cover, mud guards, dash cam eventually. Have only had it a little over a month now with barely 600 miles on it.
I hope to get my tonneau cover put on this weekend--may have to get the wife to help on this one. The son took off for Vegas, so it will be an oldies party.
I ordered it off ebay. G4 Azure Gray Spray Paint Base coat from Spectral Paints. it was 40 dollars. Also used some primer and clear coat (just inexpensive can from auto parts store and cheap pruner from Home Depot).
I try to limit the carbs but some days it is not easy or feasible. The wife, being a nurse, is always on my case about snacking. Lost about 30 lbs prior to knee replacement surgery 3 months back as of today. Still recuperating from that--limits what I can and can't do. Still waiting to put...
There are some franchise BBQ places around here, but they are high. The local one in town is spotty--you can never tell when they will have anything--always out of something. Most of the good BBQ places in Texas are down in the Hill Country--Lockhart, Kyle, in that area. Growing up in Calif...
The nearest beach around here is probably 500+ miles away--Galveston or Corpus. We live in the most beautiful (sarc) area of the country--West Texas, where you can look forever and never see a mountain or a lake, an what passes as a river (Pecos River) is pretty much a trickle.
Finally got the tailgate assist done this afternoon--took maybe 30 minutes all told. I spray painted the brackets to match truck color. Homelink mirror is done. Will have to wash and detail before installing mud flaps. Tonneau cover--I have a cheap Chinese retractable from ebay that cost...
Finally got my Homelink mirror installed. Works great--garage door opener works as does the compass. Next will be the tonneau cover--waiting on son to help with that. And then the tail gate assist--painted the brackets to match the truck color--just waiting for the paint to dry before installing.
