The hybrid warranty seems solid and the engine trans is already in use in the Escape. The prospective issue I see is the ability to use the Maverick as a actual truck, hauling loads and pulling trailers. It will either be durable through due diligence on Ford's part or not, only time will tell...
Oddly enough, I'm also a MC guy. Riding since 1969, my (2) Nortons and (3) Triumphs never stranded me. That said, my (5) month old BMW left me high and dry on the side of the road. Noticed you have a Subaru Outback, I'm on my second and LAST. I find them delicate, oil/anti-freeze using examples...
While I'm not a current Ford owner and have owned (5) Toyota's I don't agree w/ their final verdict. You test the vehicles for 17.5 minutes and use the resale value to determine who won, really? I would purchase/lease the Escape hands down. I've driven the RAV and was very uninspired.
What's really surprising is the lumbar support is also on the passenger side on the Maverick. The Honda Ridgeline Sport doesn't even have lumbar support at approximately 38K + fees.
My Ford dealer has (9) vehicles total.
I think there's more here than meets the eye. 99% of my local dealers have hardly any new stock. That said, there's a local Buick dealer that has more new vehicles than I've ever seen on his lot with overflow across the street in a vacant facility.
I...
In looking at Bronco Sports, I've seen 3-4 different brands of tires.
My favorite is the Continental, I put these on my Outback 35K ago and they're far and above the best tire I've run.
While the engine management system can certainly accommodate the fuel's octane, you're paying for a specific horsepower and torque on the 2.0, why not get what you paid extra for? For me, the real reason for running a top tier, clean running premium fuel on a D.I. engine is to prevent issues...
The AWD feature is actually beneficial in all weather conditions. I'm on my second Subaru and the AWD really shines on rainy, miserable days, you can feel it pulling you around the corners with no loss of traction. While a evasive maneuver in wet weather could save your bacon, in a FWD or RWD...
I would have to say the frontal area, I think it's basically the same as the Bronco Sport. In that respect I've heard the BS's road/wind noise is a bit high at highway speeds. Something like this is very difficult to remedy. I'll probably wait till a Test is available and check things out myself...
The fuel in my area is $3.15 a gallon for regular, add .60 for premium. I personally will only use Tier 1 Premium fuel on a Turbo'd engine w/ D.I.
I've owned two Turbos so far.
The first thing I look at in a truck is the dimension from tailgate to ground w/ gate open. The Maverick really caught my attention w/ it's great figure. That said, the inability to load 4' sheet goods on the floor nullifies this as you have to put 2x4's up in notches in the bed and then lift...
Sounds like a complete long-block exchange, as long as the issue has been corrected. I know my local Toyota dealer, use only Master-techs w/ lots of experience to do the work on large projects such as long block exchanges, frame replacements, etc. It does take time, especially if all of the...
There appears to be a Class Action Lawsuit on the 2.0 Eco-Boost engine in specific Ford vehicles, I believe it may have been filed earlier this year and affects engines up to 2019. Is this the same engine used in the Bronco Sport and Maverick? If so, is anyone aware of a design change in the...
Was looking at a new Ranger this AM, built in Dearborn, Michigan, destination was $1495......I'm 90 miles from there and don't mean across the border in Canada, yikes!
For me the question mark will be the 2.0 engine. While it certainly has the power, will the turbo be a good bet when towing? I would be tracking down a trusted service manager who will divulge if the engine has any heat related or other issues when equipped with a tow package for the amount of...
