Sorry to hear about the tar mess, thatās never fun!
Here are a few tried-and-true products that you can find on Amazon and work great without damaging the paint:
Top Bug & Tar Removers (Safe for Clearcoat Finishes):
Stoner Tarminator ā Super effective, especially for heavy deposits. Just...
This is my second Maverick. For the first one, I got a center console organizer, bed mat, tailgate dampener, tailgate letters, soft tonneau cover, key fob covers, and mud flaps (yours, naturally ;)). Then I saw a Tremor at my local Ford dealer and had to start over again š¼
If I had to pick just one feature to add, it would have to be ventilated seats ā and based on what Iām seeing, that seems to be the top request across the board. That said, a HomeLink mirror, front parking sensors, and memory seats would all be welcome additions too.
But more than anything...
This is super tempting, but with the butter soft plastic in the Maverick, Iād hate to mess with the dash. It looks like even the 8ā upgrade still requires the removal of the screen :(
Thanks! The Atlas Blue looks pretty great, too. The XLT I traded in for the Tremor was Atlas Blue and I would have bought the color again in a heartbeat. Azure Grey is probably my favorite Maverick color (so that would kind of be a combo of the two :)).
My best buddy had a Ranger back in the...
Gave the baby Tremor a good wash and took her out for a spin. Stopped on a quiet country road to snap a few photos ā no real reason, just one of those perfect days where you appreciate the ride. According to the window sticker, she turns one the day after tomorrow.
Yup, mine still leaks a little, especially going through a car wash, but nothing like the soft cover (still in my profile pic) it replaced. TBH I have been too lazy to fool around with it to see if I could get it to seal better. I really like how easy it is to operate.
It really sounds like youāre doing a great job staying focused and weighing your options carefully ā thatās huge. I think you made a smart call passing on the hail-damaged truck. Even if the price was tempting, youād probably never stop noticing it (I know I wouldnāt), and when youāre spending...
Hey MattTX ā
Youāre on the right track thinking ahead about the OTD price. I did some quick math that might help you when youāre talking to dealers:
If youāre trying to stay under $30k out-the-door, factoring in Texas 6.25% sales tax and average fees ($150ā250 doc fee, $200ā300...
Iāve had the Rough Country hard tri-fold tonneau cover on my Maverick since last Christmas (caught it on sale š), and Iāve been really happy with it so far. My old soft cover leaked like crazy and would flap around at highway speedsānot ideal. This one feels a lot more solid, looks sleeker on...
This is about as close to social media as I get. I really enjoy seeing what people do with their Mavericks, and it was genuinely fun learning about the updates on the ā25 (even if Iām still not sold on the front end š ). Some of the posts do get repetitive, but heyāthatās the nature of forums.
So far, mine has (and yes, I fully admit Iāve Auto-Zoned the crap out of this little truck š ):
⢠Cargo management bar: Harbor Freight 2-in-1 Cargo Bar ā does the job.
⢠Front window tint: Done at a local shop (no website, but they did solid work).
⢠Center console organizer...
