For those who have a verified order of a '22 MY Maverick that Ford can't produce, Ford will make a "private offer" to order a '23 MY. This should give those orders priority in production, and hopefully price protection from the markup in model years.
I feel like I hit the lottery with an October 21, 2021 order and 9/19 build schedule. I do wonder if Ford is pushing out the top trim trucks to avoid private offers for loaded models... Lariat lux, hybrid, CP360...
And when converting real life into a 2D photograph, perspective makes a difference. All of these comparison photos seem to have the Maverick parked 3' farther away from the camera than the other truck, which significantly exaggerates the size difference... Not a realistic comparison.
Between cameras, filters, and screens, it's so hard to tell what the colors look in the wild. I finally saw an alto and it had a very cool deep teal to it. In all the pictures it looked almost black or had some blue... I had changed to cactus grey, but then also saw a mustang with avalanche and...
Do the Ford mud flaps cover the void in the driver's side rear wheel well? I want to keep the salt and grime out of there. It looks like RokBlocks cover it well, but they're a little pricey.
I've got a cactus grey lariat on order and an y seriously considering the scoop and fender flares (not the bush ones though). How are they applied (3m, bolts)? Do they feel secure? I'll be battling snow and ice... Thanks!
I got the same one late last night! The first communication. Doesn't seem like the message should feel this good, but it's been radio silence for so long that this is almost exciting.
Tim Bartz mentioned that they don't know how many allocations they will get month to month. If he doesn't know ahead of time, it's safe to say no one does.
Called and removed all of my options that can be dealer installed (air deflectors, hard roll up tonneau, and clear hood film). I am keeping the lux and cp360 as they are priorities for me. My dealer was very easy to work with and wants to "make it right" since they have continued to experience...
Reserved a mustang convertible from Hertz a few years ago and when I got to the counter they tried to "upgrade" me to a PT cruiser... What?!?! (It didn't happen, btw)
Called my dealer today, and was told that two bronco customers received emails from Ford that their order was being pushed to MY23, then the built vehicle showed up at the dealer two weeks later (obviously not MY23). Moral of the story is that Ford's communication is terrible; just another example.
Tim, thank you so much for your timely and articulate explanations! Do you have any idea when buyers would be notified that their order is being pushed to a MY23? Would it be as late as August? Also, do you know if those buyers would get a priority build date on their pushed MY23 order? This all...
If I get pushed to next year and have to start over with no price protection, I'll be looking at a 2023 hybrid Ridgeline or Tacoma. Ford's lack of communication has really been a disappointment, not so much that I'd give up on my current order, but definitely if I get pushed.
