  1. ā›”ļø Official bulletin: 2023 Maverick order banks closing on 9/20 (Hybrid) and 9/21 (EcoBoost)

Scalping isn’t causing shortages. The shortages are already there. It’s just exacerbated by heavily imbalanced supply and demand in favor of the dealer. And dealers can set prices at whatever they want to set them at—nothing illegal going on here. Arbitrary retail markups and fraudulent...
  2. ā›”ļø Official bulletin: 2023 Maverick order banks closing on 9/20 (Hybrid) and 9/21 (EcoBoost)

The dealers, themselves, are just flippers. Most are doing it fairly egregiously with these trucks by way of substantial markups, a few just selling at MSRP and making their typical profit. I have no issue with any of this, I’m a capitalist. In fact I’d almost prefer the profit went to an...
  3. Elephant in room: Around 80% of orders are Hybrids.

By the time people get done with modifying a Maverick only to be a fatter, less agile, poorer-driving Miata, it will look completely ridiculous. Because anybody who chooses this as a platform for that kind of build inherently has questionable taste. (I’m just busting balls here and have no...
  4. Elephant in room: Around 80% of orders are Hybrids.

The fuel mileage isn’t much better than other options that are either real trucks or are more capable. Hybrid is where the Maverick can define an entirely new market and reach a completely new buyer. Like me, who doesn’t care about trucks and has never wanted one because I don’t care about...
  5. Long McArthur 794 MY23 Orders from Episode 58 & 59 Live Stream, 132 XL, 449 XLT, 213 Lariat with 68.6% of them Hybrids !!!

Was born in ā€˜91, but this one is my second Vista Cruiser. My first one was bought in 2017, a ā€˜72. My ā€˜73 was purchased in 2020. The crusher and demo derbies took these 73+ wagons all away, not many left. Parts unobtainium (Mavericks are easier to come by). Found this one in Chicago—again, small...
  6. Elephant in room: Around 80% of orders are Hybrids.

I never touch the electric mirrors in vehicles I’ve owned that have them. Set and forget. And if they get bumped at a car wash or whatever, it’s an easy fix. I don’t need them honestly. I’m in the minority though I’m sure. Also, see my vehicle—I’m quite okay with 1970’s tech.
  7. ā›”ļø Official bulletin: 2023 Maverick order banks closing on 9/20 (Hybrid) and 9/21 (EcoBoost)

Don’t hate the player, hate the game. It’s a wise financial play to flip one and keep one. These trucks print money. That being said, I ordered only one, and am keeping it to drive into the ground just like my 2000 Honda CRV approaching 250,000 miles.
  8. Elephant in room: Around 80% of orders are Hybrids.

I ordered a 2023 base model XL hybrid with no options. I thought I had gamed the system until I saw this thread. Lol
  9. šŸ“Š Maverick Order Tracking List & Stats [Enter Yours!]

2023 XL Hybrid Cactus Gray Zero options, no add ons. An article on Jalopnik popped up on my Apple News feed saying hybrid orders were closing, so I impulsively called a dealer down the street, went in, they sat me down and took my order, and treated me like a human. I got the email right...
