Let me add a little to this conversation with my own personal experience. My first Maverick was a 23 hybrid Lariat. Absolutely loved that truck. A guy hit me and totalled that truck. The only Maverick I could find was a hybrid XLT in January of 2024. I didn't really like it but I figured it...
Wow I can't believe how much Ford is taking out of the Maverick since the 23 models. It's amazing how much they are still charging for one. I was really wanting to get a new model to replace my 23 Maverick that got totaled but now I'm glad I sold my temporary Maverick and moved on to something...
I don't really regret getting a 24 XLT but I really miss my 23 Lariat. I tried to find a 24 lariat when mine got totaled but no dealership near me had exactly what I wanted so I just picked the best deal available.
So 2 miles of slow driving raised my mpg by 15mpg? I'm not saying it didn't affect it but nowhere near that much. I always get high 40s or low 50s unless it's cold outside. All I was trying to show is that it's possible to get a good average even while driving highway speeds over a pretty...
Ok fancy math person, next time I'll time each stoplight for how long I'm sitting there. If you want more values for your calculations the speed limit where I live going through downtown is 20 mph. There is about 8 stoplights between the highway and my house. I don't know much about the other...
I said that was my speed most of the way. Before I got on the highway I hit a few stoplights and the same thing when I got off the highway. Total miles driven less than 55 mph was around 2.
My first Maverick got totaled (not my fault) one year ago. I had zero problems with the insurance company. I paid about $34,000 and they gave me "market value" about $42,000. I wasn't about to turn down that offer.
Our drive-in uses a FM station that I've had trouble picking up with a stand alone radio, that's why I was using the truck radio. Plus the sound is much better coming from the B & O system. I tried the Acc mode but that shut off also. I forgot to mention I have a hybrid.
Here's an example of why I think there should be no time limit or a longer time limit. My wife and I like going to the drive in with this setup. Unfortunately every 30 minutes I got to climb out of the bed and turn the truck back on.
