  1. Diminished value settlement

My Maverick was hit in the side when a driver changed lanes into me. She stopped briefly then left the scene. I followed her for 20 minutes (luckily she didn't speed but did try several quick lane and turn changes trying to loose me) while wife was on phone the entire time giving State Patrol...
  2. Two major issues with my 24 hybrid Maverick

Everyone keep in mind it's very difficult to find the cause of an occasional problem. Just as going to a doctor for them to diagnose something that's not happening at the time, you'll have a lot of test done but most likely won't know what the problem was. A tech can easily diagnose a vehicle...

I think this way, insurance companies (be it health, auto insurance or whatever) know what it is costing them in claims when they have insurance on something. Therefore, if they insure something for say $1000 they know that on average it's costing them less than that. Note average! Question...
  5. Ford Protect Extended Warranty question

Used to be you could add time or more miles and pay the difference as long as under 3yr/36k miles. Check with dealer, may have changed but if told you can't my suggestion would be to contact FoMoCo as some employees may not know.
  6. Comparing 2022 XL Hybrid to 2024 XL Hybrid - physical differences

Having the temp indicated on both the knob and the info screen is better because the display is always on the knob and goes off on the info screen after a few seconds. With no display on the knob you have to change the temp knob to see where the temp is set when the info screen displays it...

Very observant, I fabricated and added the shield very soon after I got the 2022. I made a thread on MTC on what I did, with photos. Do a search "fabricated panel" and it should come up. Guess I'll be making one for the new 2024 soon.

The bright blue (Velocity Blue) is so easy for an old guy like me to see in a large parking lot where I forgot where I parked it. Now I'll most likely be wandering around the lot looking for it!!! Look at the 57 Chevy for my screen name photo, still have it, I painted it Dodge "Plum Crazy"...

  16. Ford Battery Monitoring System (BMS) Explanation

Being old and working on cars since 1970 I was taught to never connect both of the jumper or charger cables to the battery terminals. Reason back then the fumes from the battery were explosive and just the spark from connecting a clamp on the terminal could cause the battery to explode. Always...

  20. Night vision dashcam, is it worth it?

Everyone should have one, both front and rear facing. I doubt it will provide any additional vision aid, better to keep your eyes on the road ahead. A dash cam will provide great value if you're involved in an accident that is not your fault or in question, providing you're not doing anything...
