  1. Bed storage cubby door, will this be a common stolen item?

Like that Flash Gordon movie when they had to place their arm inside a tree trunk with a monster inside! Kinda like Russian roulette!
  2. Bed storage cubby door, will this be a common stolen item?

People will steal crap just to steal it, then toss it in the trash... those types don't care about the value, they're just doing it to cause someone else to have a bad day.
  3. Bed storage cubby door, will this be a common stolen item?

I'm curious if the bed storage cubby built into the rear passenger side of the bed locks or not? All of the videos show it twist to open and then the door isn't hinged, but is removed easily... I hope that it locks or I will be worried that without a locking bed cover these doors will disappear...
  4. Is Anyone Else Seeing What I Am Seeing?

Here is a tire size calculator that can tell you exactly what the speedometer error will be between original and replacement size. Looks like for 1.5" increase in tire diameter the speedo will indicate 60mph when real speed is 63mph. You were very close!
  5. Is Anyone Else Seeing What I Am Seeing?

How do you correct for speedometer error with larger tires? Can that be programmed in to the vehicle?
  6. 🥊 2022 Maverick vs Santa Cruz PRICING, SPECS, TRIMS Comparison

Hard to say, though the Santa Cruz was primarily designed in Hyundai’s California Studios. Sometimes if you are not certain of something, it’s better to be silent.
  7. 🥊 2022 Maverick vs Santa Cruz PRICING, SPECS, TRIMS Comparison

"Payload is the combined weight of all passengers and cargo" This applies to the Maverick as well. You cannot place 1500 pounds in the bed of the Maverick and expect to drive it anywhere as the driver would be the straw that breaks the camel's back by exceeding the rated payload capacity of the...
  8. 🥊 2022 Maverick vs Santa Cruz PRICING, SPECS, TRIMS Comparison

I understand that, but as others have pointed out, you could load 1500 pounds in the Maverick's bed, but you won't be able to drive it as it would exceed it's payload capacity as soon as you sit in the driver's seat. I've ordered a Maverick, FYI, but I'm not splitting hairs to find an advantage...
  9. 🥊 2022 Maverick vs Santa Cruz PRICING, SPECS, TRIMS Comparison

From their website listing specs for the Santa Cruz - payload is listed at 1,748-lb
  10. 🥊 2022 Maverick vs Santa Cruz PRICING, SPECS, TRIMS Comparison

Santa Cruz payload is 1748-lb, 248lb more than the Maverick.
  11. 2022 Maverick production week scheduling starts next week!

I don’t think the transmission factory has switched to produce the new eCVT yet.
  12. Why no 1.5 i3 for the hybrid?

For a hybrid, it’s not how small the ICE is, but how efficient it is. The 1.5l has a turbo, which by its very nature is less efficient when under hard acceleration compared to a normally aspirated engine. In addition to being normally aspirated (no turbo) the 2.5l uses a slightly different...
  13. Video shows how eCVT works in a Toyota/Ford vehicle

The transmission part of it sounds like it should be much more reliable than a traditional 8 or 10 speed automatic as the eCVT has so very few parts to it. One, and the only drawback that I can see is that a backyard mechanic will probably not want to swap out the starter/generator motor as it...
  14. Correspondence from Ford??

I think you mean to say you ordered your truck on June 11. If your dealer has already sold you something that doesn't exist, then I think you got taken for a ride, and not in a Maverick. You may have signed an intent to purchase document, however. But that doesn't mean that you have bought the...
  15. Hey all, New to the forum, question on tinted windows

If it is as dark as a previous Ford I had with factory privacy glass, you won't be able to match the front door's tint to the back doors and rear windshield as in a lot of states it is illegal to tint beyond 30% black. Check your state's DMV for window tinting regulations for front doors.
  16. CYBER ORANGE Maverick Photos Thread

Have a look at the closeup of the pic posted above. You can see the metallic flake in the paint.
  17. CYBER ORANGE Maverick Photos Thread

A closeup of the Cyber Orange Metallic that shows the actual metallic flake in the paint. I think it looks pretty awesome! This is taken from a still frame from a YT channel featuring a Ranger Tremor in Cyber Orange.
  18. Hey all, New to the forum, question on tinted windows

I believe that the XLT and Lariat trims come with what Ford calls Privacy Glass - dark tinted rear door windows and the back windshield.
  19. Ford Protect Extended Service Plans

I think the Ford hybrid powertrain is 8 years/100,000 miles. One would almost be better off putting an extra $50 away each month for your own self-financed warranty once the factory warranties expire. In three years you would have $1800 stashed away. I have a 2014 Ford Fusion and I've had two...
  20. Hood gas struts for Maverick

It probably won't, usually the gas struts have a break over point before they will lift, but still something to consider, just to be safe.
