yes, and in fact I disconnected both parking brake motor connectors and also disconnected the 12V battery before trying to retract/apply the caliper pistons with thee 9V battery. Sorry I didn't mention this in my initial post.
The brake service mode didn't work on our 2023 XLT hybrid
unplug the parking brake motor from the harness. Use a 9V battery with jumpers to the terminal spades on the pb motor connector. If the polarity is correct the motor will reverse and back off the piston. If not reverse the leads.
The 9V battery method worked........almost. After the switch and pedal dance and Forscan failed to put my 23 xlt hybrid in brake service mode I used a 9V battery to retract the EPB motors. This has been covered elsewhere here and on youtube. I made a set of leads with the top of an old 9V...
Well, as I mentioned in my original post, my 23 xlt won't go into brake service mode either using the method in the manual. I have discovered 2 other methods to do this so hopefully I'll get it done over the weekend one way or the other. Friday looks beautiful so we are going for a top down...
I tried to use the ignition switch/EPB switch/accelerator pedal method to put our 2023 XLT hybrid into brake service mode to no avail. So I downloaded Forscan and got the recommended USB OBD !! cable. I was able to get forscan to recognize our Maverick and checked for any faults, none were...
New to forscan. I was able to get forscan to connect to our 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid properly. I went into brake service mode and followed the instructions, EPB off, in park, service brake off. I've tried several times and the info screen briefly flashed "check brake system" in red and then...
I tried the workshop method to deactivate the EPB and put it in service mode, no joy on our 2023 XLT hybrid. I ordered the OBD 11 adapter and will use our old windows10 laptop and try it with FORScan. Hopefully that will work
Thanks, my vw caliper tool is a typical type screw-in tool with a nut with "nubs" that fit into the slots on the pistons. The nut Is attached to the main screw with an allen set screw and fit many vw calipers. I used it when we had a vw egolf and Passat TDI and fabricated an adapter nut that...
What is the OD of the piston for a 2023 Ford Maverick rear brake caliper? I need to replace my badly scored/rusted rear rotors and pads(yes I live in the NE). I have a proper brake caliper tool for a VW so I'm guessing I'll need to fabricate an adapter plate to fit the maverick piston slots. A...
I want to know what percentage of the total unladen weight is on the front axle vs the rear axle, hopefully this clarifies my poorly worded initial query.
