  1. Fuel Injection Service Question

Not sure the shade was necessary there "I find it curious that anyone who changes their oil that often would question any preventative-maintenance idea thrown at them." Oil is comparatively cheap. My last Ford truck ran 200,000 miles before a drunk driver hit it and totaled it, so I might be...
  2. Fuel Injection Service Question

Hi All, here's a question...I have a 2022 Maverick, Eco Boost engine with 23000 miles. It's been in service two years and 10 months. I just had an oil change at the dealership and they are telling me it's time to clean the fuel injection system. I said no, not now. I've driven the truck gently...
  3. CV Axle Replacement on 2023 Maverick XL EcoBoost @34k Miles

So, stupid question here...are the CV axles covered under the 5 year, 60,000 mile powertrain warranty? We are only putting around 7500 miles per year on our 2022 Ecoboost XLT, and it's been in service for 24 months now. At this rate, we are going to hit the 3 year, 36,000 mile bumper to bumper...
  4. The day you look forward to: "You Have Paid Off Your Vehicle!"

Congrats! I've got 11 more months and then I'm in your shoes!
  5. Maverick odometer poll - how many miles have you driven?

Ordered Dec. 2021, in service date late October 2022, 13,000 miles to date, three oil changes (the last one being the 10,000 mile service) and no problems so far (knocking on wood.)
  6. Oh deer 🦌

I feel your pain. We've had three cars totaled by deer in the last 25 years. I just hope not the Mav. Just replaced my older used Elantra with a newer used Elantra in April. Also hit him doing 55 mph. A big buck.
  7. Auto stop start

Nope, my startup flow is step on the brake, put it in gear, parking brake off, auto start off, push the button to take that annoying seatbelt display off the screen and drive. About the same number of steps to start the airplane I used to fly!
  8. You’ve gotta know when to fold ’em

Yep, I think that must be the one he was thinking of. My brothers owned Bugs in the mid 70's and that book kept them on the road.
  9. My first real issue

I did not get the ESP but have extended coverage of a sort...Geico is my insurer and they provide mechanical breakdown insurance as part of my policy. It runs me $67 a year and has a $100 deductible while the vehicle is under the original warranty and has a failure not covered by the warranty...
  10. Geee wonder where Ford got

I was going to say a Pacer, so at least I was in the same family with my guess. I must be in the minority, but I loved the Pacer. It was so ugly it was cute. I learned to drive a stick in a three speed Pacer. Wish I had one today.
  11. Took a ride in a different kind of Ford today

Is that the EAA Tri-Moter? I took a ride in it about 10 years ago at Airventure.
  12. 4,540 miles in 4 days of driving...

Controlled by pullies and cables is correct except for the starter...that would be the "Armstrong Starter!" I have some experience with the Armstrong Starter myself.
  13. i accidentally made this thread [NO POLITICS, NO OFFENSIVE POSTS, NO NSFW]

I learned to drive a stick shift in a 1976 AMC Pacer. Wish I had one now. They're so ugly, they're cute
  14. Ford Pass Cellular Data Connection...Who Pays For It?

That's the way of the world these days. I guess that's why Ford gives you the option to disconnect the data stream through the touch screen or pull the fuse on it.
  15. Ford Pass Cellular Data Connection...Who Pays For It?

Hi, so for the truck to communicate to Ford's servers and then to my Ford Pass phone app, the truck has to have a cellular data card connected to some cellular network. My truck does not have a wifi hotspot card, by the way, as it was deleted from the order and I assume due to supply chain...
  16. Tremor going skiing w/ Elevate CS rack and Thule ski box installed

Nice set up! I just lay mine diagonally in the bed in my ski bag and they just fit. I have a tri-fold cover on the bed similar to yours so everything stays nice and dry on the way to the slope.
  17. How much does a dealer charge to apply SIBL?

I paid around around $800 plus tax for a Rhino lining. As others have said, it can be labor intensive. The guy scuffed up the bed and cleaned it with alcohol to get good adhesion. All hardware came out of the bed and he plugged all of the holes in the bed before spaying. He also removed the...
  18. Keeping the auto start/stop off -- plug LED nightlight in the 110 outlet on back of console

I don't like the auto stop/start function so I just hit the button next to the parking brake release and disable it before I put the truck in gear.
