I do the same thing I put mine on the charger once in a while but I don't attach it to the battery directly. I use the + and - posts under the hood.

I have to reset the BMS about every week. If I try to turn the truck on with my phone and it doesn't work, the next time I drive I simply do the hokey-pokey BMS reset maneuver before I exit. I'm then OK for a while. I know no other way to be able to use the remote features without doing the reset.

My Hybrid does that also. It is in deep sleep mode even after I drive it on a long trip. I handle this by resetting the BCM (battery control module) when it starts acting up. I have to do it about once a week. Then I can remote start again with the app and door lights work again. I just brought...
