It's the mid being behind or under the seat that is the problem. You'd gain a little bass, but lose most of your midrange. It would be very muffled/muddy. Mounting a sub under/behind the seat isn't as big of a deal, since it only plays bass. Anything that plays midrange and up shouldn't have...
I admire the ambition to do good stuff! You're going to have to do some serious cutting under that front dash grill to get that stuff to fit though. I had to go after mine with a hot knife just to get some large tweeters to fit. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing the finished product!
If you get a component set and put the mid/woofers under or behind the seat, it really won't help a lot. Vocals will be almost gone and muffled, because the tweeters only play the upper ranges where little vocals actually exist. It just isn't a recipe for good sound, regardless of sound level...
2023 Hybrid with 114,500 miles. The miles would be higher, but I haven't driven as much as usual this year. Still has original brakes, CVs, and battery. No actual parts have been replaced yet. I've changed the oil and tires, and nothing else. Biggest issue so far is low speed braking being...
As Carlitos_2 mentioned, there is only a setting for setting the speakers to woofer/tweeter, and it will likely result in a very empty sound. The best solution is a DSP setup with a separate amp for the factory speakers. A cheaper solution is just a separate amp that has a high pass xover...
I've always believed that firmer shifts are actually better for the transmission, since there is less slipping going on to make smooth shifts. I could be crazy though :D I'm sure it is just fine, and a lot more fun to drive.
The missing info here is: What does this transmission "overhaul" actually mean? Did they just change the fluid and re-seal it, or did they actually go in and replace some parts? The e-CVT is a very different animal than the traditional 8 speed in the ecoboosts, and I'd be curious(surprised...
You're picking some solid, but expensive, gear. I have nothing bad to say about any of it, but.... If you're gonna go that far, go ahead and hit the next level with the 4 channel amp and a dedicated DSP. A Morel 4 channel can be had for around the same price as the kicker key. Some would...
I'm assuming you went in with forscan and set the EQ to flat? If not, that's where your low bass is hiding! I'm all for more choices in subwoofers, but i doubt it will be much better than what you have. There are already some great options for shallow subs like JL, Hertz, Audison, Arc, and...
I want to see some side by side beam shots of the Form lights vs the Ford lights(not that I'm saying the factory lights are bad). Better lights are great when you're in the middle of nowhere, and deer like to pop out. I've already had 1 deer cause about $9k worth of damage. I hunt, and go to...
I'd get the ones with the best lighting performance. I haven't seen any in person to know for sure, but something tells me the Form lights will perform quite well. The difference in looks is minimal, when you get used to it. Function over form is my advice :)
His 0-60 times mentioned in the video are garbage. He didn't give either truck a real chance to do their best, imo. I also got the impression he didn't put them in sport mode, since he mentioned the hybrid starts the run without the engine running... Sport mode keeps the engine running and...
Just get your tools together, and go at it! If you can't get it off with the seat in the truck, then disconnect the battery and pull the seat. People change the battery all the time, and I'm sure you can handle stuff like resetting the clock if needed. You'll figure it out :) If you're really...
I agree with Glen Baker, I'd get one locally with a good warranty. Given the Maverick's propensity for eating batteries, a 4 year warranty could save you a lot of money in the long run. I have used EBL lithium batteries in stuff, and they've worked very well, but I can't say about their car...
You truck battery is likely dead, which is why it won't start. Just jump it off. As for the brake stuff, I have no idea. I'm at 95K and still on the original ones, haha.
I was also one of those wondering about that Ford photo. I ended up putting a Camlocker tool box that was made for a Polaris Ranger(perfect fit) in my truck. I like the fitment of the vevor, and it looks like a good option.
My first thought was they wired up the amp using signal sensing, instead of running a dedicated turn on leade. Signal sensing amps will power on anytime the truck does anything(like open a door, etc.), because these trucks send voltage through the speaker wires even when there is no audio. In...
