That cable is outdated and no longer supported by FORScan. You would need the VGate VLinker or the OBDLink EX. The VLinker costs half what the OBDLink cable costs and works just fine.
Yup......they did start enforcing that here recently. A client we sold a car to from the dealer I work at got ticketed and we paid for the ticket since it had our license plate frame on it.
The latest sync firmware for Sync 3 is version 23188 (IIRC) which means it was released the 188th day of 2023.
Puddle lamps are the lights under your left and right rear view mirrors that light up the floor when you unlock it.
Edit: If you ask them to reflash the apim firmware, they're going...
Really? And it populated all the modules when you did the scan? From recent uses of that cable in other forums, it would not read all the modules in the network. It has been considered obsolete for a very long time now. FORScan no longer lists it as a supported device on their website.
Hmmmm. Good question. I'm sure a reflash can be done, but without FDRS, I'm not sure how you would obtain the files and more importantly, the manifest file for the USB reflash. The thing is if it was a bad install, the issue would have been going on since the apim was updated and not now...
Can Ford see the FORScan changes? An engineer within Ford could if they were looking for it. They have access to things dealer and owners don't have access to. I've never seen what they use..... I've only heard of it. From my understanding, what they use is like if FDRS and FORScan had a baby...
Yes, forscan will allow you to make config changes within the modules to enable/disable certain things and behaviors, but that won't help with your issue.
Both you and the OP are on the latest Sync 3 software already. I already checked that. You cannot write firmware to the APIM anyway. The...
Yea, it did, so don't freak out when you pull the codes. All of these lost comms codes were due to the fuse pulls. They are all stored codes now. The only active faults are in the ABS (that code was there before and could be due to a module needing an update or possible your 12v battery being...
FORScan or a code reader would show you the same codes I sent you. It won't hurt to plug it in and dig around, though.
Did you do something to your truck maybe 40 minutes ago or so? Maybe a battery disconnect?
I would just check the existing fuses first. Maybe one of them just isn't seated properly. If you do find one that is blown, then you know what to do first. If none of them are blown and they are all seated properly, then you may have a hardware issue.
Edit: I didn't check to see if your truck...
In the BJB (battery junction box) below:
Check these fuses #24 and #41 for the DSP:
In the BCM below:
Check fuse #17 & #18 for the radio and WACM and also #23 for the ACM.
In your case, I see nothing helpful with the codes it is reporting to the cloud.
However, in the case of @crbalch it is very obvious that something is wrong. You have several modules with active faults citing lost comms between the APIM, IPC, DSP and the wireless charging module.
Going...
When you scanned it with FORScan, were there any codes?
Do you have FORScan or any code scanner? If not and if your truck is connected to the Ford app, message me the VIN and I can pull the codes it is reporting to Ford's cloud.
I found a cluster from a 2024 Escape with only 2k miles for cheap. Another guy on the BS forum bought a 2025 BS cluster and (as suspected), it doesn't fit correctly. It also only registers the turn signals and headlights after he flashed his ab data on it, but the cluster itself does not light...
These Sync 4 vehicles can be sensitive to module swaps. Assuming the IPC even fits, the part number would be different from what the servers think your vehicle has. So any future updates for the IPC either with FDRS or the OTA process would fail.
There are certain modules where that is not a...
Ah, I get it now. The clusters for the Escapes are pricey as hell even on eBay, but I see what you're saying now. The cluster in my current vehicle and the Escape does seem to have very similar mounting points. Guess I should have asked before I bought the IPC I bought. I also already bought the...
