I look at it as Ford being ahead in voluntary repairs for their products. Most manufacturers just fix issues as they come in. Hopefully the vehicle is out of warranty by then so the customer gets to pay for it. Issuing a recall means Ford is acknowledging there could be problem in the future...

I had some material like that and tried to cut tailgate letters for my truck. Unfortunately it didnt cut cleanly through most of the reflective hexagons and some of them came completely off. Ill take a picture of it tomorrow, its at my shop.
