  1. Changes for 2027

E-Plates! In this time of technology we still use ancient stamped plates for ID… often made by prison inmates. I was searching U-tube today and saw “8 problems you must know about the Maverick” and “bad years to avoid” were 2 of the first 3 search results. Nope… not gonna look!
  2. 🥊 Rampage vs. Maverick -- expected price, size dimensions, powertrain, features comparison

Quick look and I see about 5k off for remaining Santa Cruz inventory. I guess Hyundai didn’t want to put them back on a boat (they’ll get cheaper).
  3. 🥊 Rampage vs. Maverick -- expected price, size dimensions, powertrain, features comparison

Izuzu builds trucks. Low tech diesel workhorses too boring for N.A. They thought they needed to make cars for the US…. That was a big mistake.
  4. 2022 Maverick Ecoboost - 190,000 Mile Review!

Even the odometers reset after 99,999 miles so even the automakers had no faith.
  5. Which Engine Would Last Longer?

My brother-in-law bought a 1st year BMW 318ti in 1994. The dealer gave him an extra bottle of synth oil so he didn’t have to buy oil for the 1st month.
  6. 🥊 Rampage vs. Maverick -- expected price, size dimensions, powertrain, features comparison

I guess I live in an inverted world. I have lots of compact truck choices yet put a Maverick on a boat to get it here. N.A. Folks want the trucks that are not popular here. That may just be desiring some choices. The Maverick was the one we “couldn’t” get here until May 1st. And stopped orders...
  7. 🥊 Rampage vs. Maverick -- expected price, size dimensions, powertrain, features comparison

Was at a party last weekend where I commented to “one” person about her BYD…. Then it became a forum about BYD nightmares from 6 people. Zero happiness! Maybe they’ll improve but these friends all want my Mav LOL. Nobody that I know has the Shark yet. Three friends own Changan Hunters. As far...
  8. Latest Hybrid vs EcoBoost Comparison Showdown (The Fast Lane)

I wish I owned both…. Boy if I did, the Hybrid would be a creampuff and the EB would have been abused and enjoyed. I’d try to find out the battery situation on a hybrid first. Haven’t met anyone yet with blown batteries (including the wife’s 200k piece of poop Prius). The “car” battery has seen...
  9. Young Maverick Owners Thread

Although not many young replies yet, I thought I’d see more EB owners in that group.
  10. The robots are officially coming for tire shop jobs... 🤖🚗

If AI was so smart it would still use these excuses…. And create new ones.
  11. Latest Hybrid vs EcoBoost Comparison Showdown (The Fast Lane)

I don’t think ford governs the top speeds differently, so maybe not high speeds, but acceleration. 30% more horsepower gets around 12% 0-60 times. Makes me think the EB has much more potential in there.
  12. Latest Hybrid vs EcoBoost Comparison Showdown (The Fast Lane)

85 mph in a Mustang? You could be hitting the gas when the light turns green and the Mustang still behaves like a stallion (although tech makes it behave better). You’ve put the Mav in Sub-5 second territory? Nice comparisons! I hope that someday the game of hypermiling will fade away from the...
  13. Latest Hybrid vs EcoBoost Comparison Showdown (The Fast Lane)

Never thought I’d see “GT” and “boring” in the same sentence.
  14. Senior citizen Maverick owners thread

My brother also had a Karmann Ghia in the same exterior color. Cool! I was a Beetle Convertible person myself but always the ones made by Karmann Coachworks cause they were “better”!
  15. Latest Hybrid vs EcoBoost Comparison Showdown (The Fast Lane)

1st… Gary is the OP of this thread so I’ll read his post. He likes the technically advanced turbo, an 8 speed significant gearbox, and engine/exhaust mods. So the simpler design over the battery and motor with basically a 2-piece trans. I like the EB too, but no need to bring it down. I like how...
  16. Senior citizen Maverick owners thread

Bleach burnouts 1st…. Then those tires grip like o_O
  17. Gone for six weeks. Battery?

I often leave the truck for 2-6 weeks and never a problem although I’ve never looked to see if the dome light is out when I return. If you have seen battery problems on your car, I would go with the battery tender. Somebody recently asked about 5 weeks so maybe they will see this thread and...
  18. Toyota CEO confirms: RAV4-based Unibody Truck is coming for the Maverick!

Are you saying that by the time this happens it may be based on the Rav5?;) Can we get some AI on the Rav5 please?
