ā23 hybrid with ~35,000 miles. Started to hear a faint knock sound from the front driver corner. This would happen with small bumps on occasion and got more noticeable as time went on. Couldnāt find any thing with the truck lifted up. Found some threads on here about the sway bar end links...
Installed the battery this morning. I had a vent plug in my plastic bag which I did not see until I took the bag off the battery.
Once the vent plug is in, it seems difficult to remove again. I used a mallet to tap it in fully.
I started to remove the plastic trim around the battery but was...
I had contacted the seller and here is their response.
Q: There are two (2) possible ports, one (1) on each side of the battery. Neither are open for venting. Are these supposed to be punched open? (Attached picture of the positive and negative ports previously attached in thread)
A: Your car...
Iāll see what the seller says about it first since Iāll get a reply before I have access to the battery again. I found it odd that it did not have a vent plug though.
This is a stock image but is identical to what I have. I circled a āportā on the negative side. The positive side has the same āportā. Those ports are fully sealed and have not venting.
Those holes are fully sealed spots and there was not plug with my packaging. Can you take a picture of your ventilation ports that have a true vent hole?
I just got this battery too. I keep seeing people mentioning about vent holes. There are 2 āportsā on both ends but they are sealed. Did you punch a hole for venting?
I fixed one of my more recent rattles. Found that the passenger side air vent was moving enough with vibration to have contact with the dash components. Placing a hand on the top of the dash was curing the rattle and so was holding onto the vent. I placed a tiny amount of foam under the gap...
New personal record. Just normal driving. Combination of highway and country. AC usage, no cruise control and not using eco mode. Granted, in 39 and being told I drive like a grandma lmao!
My fill up read 13.682 gallons at the pump auto stop
I have to get mine done. Havenāt had any issues. Had the last recall done with the tail lights and it caused the LASFIT LED lights to cause hyper flash on the dash. Hopefully this recall clears up the problem the last one caused.
Itās not that it is not secure, I didnāt feel there was enough clean metal-on-metal. Below that nut is just plastic with a small metal ring. I also didnāt feel like cleaning off the paint on the stud to make a better connection.
Last night, I was working on part of my dash camera hard wiring. Found the fuses I wanted to tap into and all is well. When it came to the ground wire, many have been using a stud and nut just below the fuse box at the passenger side floor.
I did not like this spot. There is not a good metal...
Iāve been getting more rattle on the driver side. Pressing on the lower left of the windshield by the dash makes the rattle go away. Iām tempted to get some foam strip between the dash and windshield to see if it does anything.
