Yep, I can say this is true, my camera powers down after 10 minutes. I don't care about the parking features of my camera so that's fine for me. I live in the sticks and rarely am in a big city so it isn't an issue.
Your reason for using ODB makes sense if you need that capability. I have a...
Yeah, but not like many Gen-Z's can afford a new vehicle and the Maverick hasn't been around long enough to have tons of used vehicles out there, and those that are aren't cheap either. So not surprising the older demographics, with more disposable cash and better credit ratings are buying them.
any reason you ran power to odb port vs. tapping into the power already up there with a harness like this? does it require too much power?

I sincerely appreciate you going through all this and sharing it with us. I've dealt with the dreaded "disabling remote services" for years on my 2023 Hybrid Escape and now with my 2025 Hybrid Maverick. Ford has replaced the battery in the Escape several times, always with a standard lead-acid...
Wow. Considering all the mods we see people post that involve drilling holes, sticking 3M tape, plugging in connectors, lift/lowering kits, and flashing firmware I'd say bending two metal tabs is one of the least worrisome modifications.
If it's not something you're comfortable with, just move...
Upgrade done. Couldn't be easier. Pried out the old USB with a flat screwdriver, unplugged, plugged the new one on and pushed it into the panel. Gifted the old one to a friend's daughter who recently got her Maverick, they were very excited and weren't aware this was even available.
Definitely...
Interesting mod and very thorough review and updates. Thanks for the information..
But I'm wondering, like you we do a lot of camping. Rather than beef up the fixed battery in the Maverick, why not purchase one or more external battery "generators" and a solar panel to charge them with? Less...
i usually get a sunroof if nothing else to let more light into the cabin, the panoramic one in my Escape is great for that. not that it's small, but the maverick's cabin seems to get plenty of light without a sunroof that i don't miss not having it on the truck. maybe because the back window is...
repealed isn't going to retrofit any vehicles.. and doesn't mean that manufacturers are going to drop it either. also doesn't mean if another president comes to power that it won't be reinstated either.
The one time I had to call Ford Roadside Assistance, January 2024, it was an absolute nightmare. It was freezing winter with temps in the teens, my 2023 Escape wouldn't start and the dash was flashing like a Christmas tree having a seizure. I was in a parking lot of a strip mall in a suburb...
stock wheels, stock tires, and i haven't had a problem with any of the snow we've had here in the northern midwest or the temps we've had lately. only 10k miles on them so i wouldn't expect any problems yet anyway.
5 items for me. i don't bother to check my wipers monthly because i replace them every 6 months, and i don't wash the floor mats in these sub-zero temps!
everything else is pretty easy to check and deal with monthly, or more often if needed. in the winter i check tire pressure every 10 degree...
