What is the reason/purpose of that square cutout (and welded back on) near the end of the tailpipe? Is it Lobo only or on all models? I’m going to install a Borla Type 3 catback soon & will be removing that OEM piece of tailpipe. Like to know what it is before I recycle it:)

Drove west down Broadway then back east on Speedway - those that know Tucson know those roads are infested with stoplights. Which is perfect for “rowing through the gears” which I did! Seems the “piped in” engine noise got turned up - making it easier to hear the rpm’s better & “shift”...
