There is/was a technical bulletin (22-2493) for that repair on '22 Mavs. It was happening to my '22. I showed the honor roll nominee at the service counter a printout of it and he said that if I gave it to him it would not be covered in the warranty. I had to just complain about it and let...
...this issue first came out. If you had PCM updated originally in 2023...the most recent update may be a big improvement on that as well!
22-2493 supersedes to 23E07.... For this one, the PCM is updated for emissions reasons, but same PCM update was was given in the TSBs, so they just have...
...it. I said, even if you can't duplicate my problem, can you just please just perform the TSB update.
Well, they did the update and it is finally FIXED! No more brake "clunk" and no more low speed "grabs."
I don't know why is so hard to convince them to do an official Ford service!
TSB...
So I posted about grabby brakes on my 2024. As far as I know, there is a TSB ( 22-2493) for MY2022 that is available (doesn't apply to 2024) but then my dealer performed a PCM and SOBDMC update (something they found on an internal Ford board) and that solved my issue with the grabby breaks...
Not gonna speculate on such an old thread. But Maybe Just Maybe the TESLA radar confused the Maverick. FORD is years behind the TESLA. Just a thought. Again; sorry for being so late to the party. But with computers and sensors I DO NOT EVER fully trust computer logic. Maybe I am paranoid...
Are you talking about the reprogram for "grabby brakes"? (TSB 22-2493 came out on that last December and the solution has been available at least since March of 2023, when I had it done.)
Or are you talking about the "reprogram powertrain control module" issue that Ford references as "Campaign...
TSB 22-2493 is the one I had done already. The issue came back over time, maybe slightly less severe.
There is also TSB 23-2060, which is more recent, but I think TSB 23-2248 looks like the latest and greatest attempt to fix the issue (see my edited post above).

Edit: Posted above, 23E09 emissions recall covers this as well I believe.
Had mine done and can tell a difference.
I think any printouts you can bring to help justify your existence with the dealership is helpful.
I had both tsbs done and it solved the problem about 80%. It's still unrefined and crude, but not as dangerous and annoying as it used to be
...one issue I am not having).
Other than this they said there were no specific recalls or TSBs for my VIN. They seemed a bit clueless about 22-2493 when I mentioned it to them. I'm not sure if I should keep bugging them about it or not. I filed NHTSA complaints.
What do you think @Shay? Would...
Well said, jsus!
I haven't been successful in getting the dealer to apply the software updates to fix the grabby brakes.
Cautiously optimistic I'll finally have a fix for the one thing I don't like about my Maverick, after this latest TSB fix is applied!
...various software modules... which just so happen to be the same ones covered by recall 23E09. Oh, and emissions recall 23E07. And TSB 22-2493 et al for the grabby brakes. And...
In any case, the PCM gets the latest software available at time of service as do the ABS module, BECM, and...
...a notice from Ford Pass with a check engine / get service message. Checked the code, the P0402 code, EGR thing. I'm aware there's a TSB (22-2493 and then 23-2059 which superseded it), but both say it applies to 22 models. Mine is a 23. Anyone with a 23 seen this, and if so what all was...
