  1. Learning how to drive my hybrid

...the AC though, but this is winter camping trips so... no AC. But I don't have Adaptive CC. In city highway I'll sometimes recall to use cruise if the time is right, but usually the traffic is such and trip is short, so it'll be worthless so I don't bother. I also have no big hills - so no...
  2. Learning how to drive my hybrid

Thank you for this. I‘m new to a lot of these terms and conditions so slowly gaining knowledge. Can i ask you, do you use cruise control on the highway? I have not and winder if it helps in any way.
  3. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

...to the HVB and from the HVB to the electric motor. It also shows when the ICE comes into play. On most all downhills withe the Adaptive Cruise Control on, it shows first "Charging" with no ICE at all then All Electric (which one can assume it is using the fully charged battery to power the...
  4. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

How do you know that up to 55-60 mph is mostly electric? Or do you just mean overall average mpg you can assume EV is being used more? True that. On the declines where it actually does go to EV mode, obviously all EV. But if your ICE is running, no matter the speed - the traction motor...
  5. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

Well, here is my experience with the Maverick hybrid. driving at constant speed ( best case, on cruise control ) on level or downhill slope... up to 55-60 mph I get 40-45 mpg with mostly electric ... power meter showing <25%, uphill, you will obviously use more gas engine... above 60 mph or...
  6. Sold my 2025 Maverick XLT

Sounds like you should have done your homework. While Adaptive cruise is only the higher trims (not my cup of tea) the other function you were complaining about was already there with Synch 4. Here I am cruising down the road in my Maverick. Gee, it would be nice to have some tunes.. Without...
  7. Learning how to drive my hybrid

Eco reduces the AC desire to get temp to set point quick. So save the HVB a bit. And slows the cruise control response to get back to speed. May keep you in EV a tad longer, or at least gentler on the ICE. Other than gas and brake pedal feel - that's it. So it helped YOU drive more...
  8. Brake Lights - Adaptive Cruise Control

No. You might be too young but think of downshifting in a manual transmission the brake lights are not activated. The brake lights are not activated when regenerating, unless the adaptive cruise control actually has to use the brakes. Then the brake lights are activated.
  9. Hybrid braking warning lights?

Here you go Bill. Here is the Ford adaptive cruise control in action on a Ranger. Automatically applying the brake lights when it applied the brakes to slow down. More than likely the same system as the Maverick. As far as regen goes, not much more dangerous than when people used to...
  10. Hybrid braking warning lights?

The ACC for calmer situations can use Regen slowdown for speed - but if the brake pressure is being applied as in an emergency situation - the brake lights are going on. Same as the Hill Start Assist on inclines, and the Auto Hold - the brake pressure is applied and the brake lights are on.
  11. Introduction and question on powertrain options

The main reason for that is the Subaru CVT. Those belt drives cannot transfer significant torque at lower speeds, because the belt will just slip, unlike a geared transmission. So any time any amount of power is needed they SCREAM while somehow still not going anywhere. Thankfully the eCVT is...
  12. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

...starter and what I normally carry in the truck approximately 500- lbs. General ambient temperature outside was 78° to 92° A/C auto 3 bars 72° Cruise control used 75% at 75mph One 12 min. Pit Stop at Eddie World outside Barstow. Flipping madhouse. *I took the picture this morning in my...
  13. Sold my 2025 Maverick XLT

Lack of adaptive cruise may well be the straw that breaks the camel’s proverbial back for me as well. When my Mav gets traded off, that will be a large part of why. The #2 reason will be that I find myself not using the bed as often as I thought I would, so putting up with the truckiness on a...
  14. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

...the ICE running is essentially "free" miles and boosts the MPG significantly. There is very little friction while essentially coasting downhill. It actually charges more when using the cruise control because if it didn't the vehicle would continue to pick up speed above the posted speed limit.
  15. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

...to and from southern to northern Utah via I-15, due to all the up and downs throughout that route, the gas engine typically is running about only about half, to no more than two thirds, of the time. That is how we can get 35 to 39 MPG on the freeway running adaptive cruise control set at 80 mph.
  16. Brake Lights - Adaptive Cruise Control

Good morning all. Do my brake lights illuminate when I am stuck or slowing down in traffic while using adaptive cruise control in my ‘25 Lariat?
  17. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

I've managed electric mode as high as 69, but it obviously requires very specific conditions that don't tend to last particularly long - maybe a mile in this case? To go much higher, I'd probably have to be coming down a mountain.
  18. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

...true. When we drive from southern to northern Utah, and back, there are many, many uphill and downhill sections on I-15. With adaptive cruise control on it charges on all downhills and when the battery gets fully charged it goes All Electric for the remainder of that downhill section. This...
  19. Hybrid braking warning lights?

I worry sometimes worry about the Adaptative Cruise Control. If the car in front puts on their brakes to slow down for a traffic light, The ACC can brake hard. Maybe this is why so many Mavericks are rear ended.
  20. Sold my 2025 Maverick XLT

Couldn't agree more, I brought my 2022 xlt lux thinking it had the ACC, for the kind of money they're asking now days having at least as option would be awesome.
