So, it is the differential. After paying a bit more attention, it was only making the noise when I was turning and accelerating from a stop. Thankfully, I had purchased extended warranty!

Thanks sme1974. My Maverick has about 120K kms and it's possible that I only experience the issue when I'm turning and accelerating. I'll pay more attention to that. I'll let you know what the dealer says.

Every time I pull away from a stop I get a noise and slight vibration from the rear end. I'm scheduled at the dealer to investigate but wondering if anyone else had had this issue and if so, what was the cause?
