So the new wires just get connected to spade connectors and they shoved in alongside the existing wires in the connector like shown below? No de-pin required?

Can you explain this more? Did you depin the two wires and pull them out of the connector? Did you then connect a short length of wire that is then connected to the original wire and the new one via a butt connector? Or did you depin each wire and then connect each wire with the one of the new...
