My son and I flew out to Wichita, Kansas to purchase the Cactus Gray 2023 XLT Hybrid Maverick from Long McArthur Ford (@fordvideoguy) in Salina, Kansas. It joins my 2023 XLT EB AWD BAP Maverick. And we might become a three Maverick family if the 2024 XL Hybrid we ordered originally gets scheduled and built -- we are thinking it could go to my daughter and her husband.

For this reason back in 2005 I had to come FROM Kansas (sort of) TO southern CAL to pickup a newly debuted Hybrid Escape.

For this reason back in 2005 I had to come FROM Kansas (sort of) TO southern CAL to pickup a newly debuted Hybrid Escape.

1. I created and maintained the MTC dealership recommendations and warnings list. If you look at this spreadsheet, you will see many CA dealerships with warnings associated with terrible things that happened when people went to purchase their Retail ordered Mavericks. A dealership where we purchased three vehicles (2022 through 2023) now has a new GM that requires $1400 in unwanted services on every purchase - including retail orders. The total amount to fly out and drive back was less than $700. We also enjoyed a scenic and priceless son-and-father road trip.
2. The Maverick we purchased from LM was available for immediate delivery. The 2024 XL Hybrid we ordered for my son (from a reputable CA Ford dealership) still hasn't been scheduled for production.
3. We paid less for the 2023 XLT Hybrid than the MSRP for the 2024 XL Hybrid.

I think the choice to buy from LM makes sense and we also had an interesting trip the weekend before Thanksgiving.

By the way, we also purchased a 2022 PHEV Ford Escape and love it.

Picked up my Maverick last week and met Tim and Sarah. They are indeed really nice and genuine people. If I’m in the market for another Ford anytime in the future, I’ll be contacting Tim for sure!

It is so nice to hear these testimonials about LM Ford and Tim, who I've watched since these trucks were released onto the un-washed masses, but they are probably just like my dealer's crew at Finnin Ford in Dubuque, Iowa and probably at least 30-40% of the small town/city dealers out there that just wanna help folks to a new vehicle experiencer. NUFF SED!
