Mazda dealer screw up

Friend took her '22 CX-5 in for oil changeay Mazda dealer . They put in 5 quarts too much oil. She stalled out after a couple miles down the road. Car would start but not go with any power. Engine would not rev. Car was towed to the dealership. Fast forward a couple days and she gets her SUV back with the confession of what happened. Advice on what she should do?

Buy a Ford Maverick?

Take it to an independent Mazda shop for an inspection. Get a letter documenting what happened. Get a detail and a tank of gas.

Thanks for the tip. I actually advised the owner to do just that. However, this post reflects a real world event that could happen to anyone...regardless of make.
