I believe the timer still runs when the vehicle is stopped at red lights?

The timer runs any time the vehicle is on, whether in motion or stopped. For those who sit in their parked but idling vehicles for an extended duration, that skews the average speed found by dividing Trip distance by time.

Not bad. Looks like your average speed was just over 20 mph. Really no place I could do that here without creating serious road rage against me. I am averaging 500 miles per tank though, so I’m pretty much happy with that.

35-45 mph roads with frequent enough stops (red lights, stop signs) and a bit of time spent idling easily takes you down to an average closer to 20-25 mph... No need for rage when you're just bouncing from one red light to the next at the legal speed limit...

Yeah I figured that. Makes sense. Yea who knows how many hours were wasted at red lights and stopped for whatever reason over the course of that one tank.
